Bush Says Democrats Shouldn't Be Trusted
Oct 3, 2006

STOCKTON, Calif. — President Bush, on a campaign swing in the West, is telling voters that the Democratic Party is weak-kneed on national security and shouldn't be trusted to hold the reins of Congress.

"If you listen closely to some of the leaders of the Democratic Party, it sounds like — it sounds like — they think the best way to protect the American people is, wait until we're attacked again," Bush said Monday at a $360,000 fundraiser in Reno, Nev., for state Secretary of State Dean Heller's congressional campaign.

"That's not the way it's going to be under my administration. We will stay on the offense," the president said. "We will defeat the enemy overseas so we do not have to face them here at home."

On the home stretch of campaigning for the Nov. 7 elections, Bush is using his fundraising sprint through Nevada, California, Arizona and Colorado to draw a line between Democrats and Republicans, especially when it comes to fighting terrorists.

So one of the biggest liars on the planet says DEMS shouldn't be trusted? Oh that's rich.

People like Bush and believe in him. I do not know why but they do and that is really hard to fight.

Why didn't Chimpy appear before the 9/11 commission under oath? Why didn't he testify by himself? Why did he have to go with Crashcart, who was similarly not under oath? Because it seems his administration withheld quite a bit of important information from the commission.

24. "THE REPUBLICAN TRUST COMPANY" By Nancy Greggs
"THE REPUBLICAN TRUST COMPANY" By Nancy Greggs

You said, “Trust us with your money.” You then proceeded to run up the largest debt in US history, largely spent on a useless unwinnable war, while cutting spending to education, health care, and social programs, as the nation’s infrastructure slowly rots.

You said, “Trust us with your soldiers.” You then sent our troops into combat without sufficient equipment for their personal safety, without a strategy or an exit plan, and gutted their pensions, their benefits and the programs they will need when they return to the country they have sacrificed so much for.

You said, “Trust us with your health.” You then handed the pharmaceutical industry a financial windfall, as millions of Americans, many of them seniors, go without medication they now cannot afford. To date, not a single comprehensive health care plan for all citizens has been seriously discussed, no less implemented – except, of course, your own.

You said, “Trust us with your security.” You then fought the establishment of the 9-11 Commission tooth-and-nail, and are still fighting the implementation of its recommendations to keep the country safe. As you line us up at airports and confiscate our shampoo in a total charade of protecting us, you inflame and incite to violence the very people you encourage us to fear.

You said, “Trust us with your well-being.” You then stood by and did nothing while your fellow citizens in New Orleans begged for help, and exercised no oversight while the money earmarked to rebuild their city and their lives was stuffed into the pockets of thieves parading as honest tradesmen and organizations.

You said, “Trust us with your way of life.” You then encouraged the outsourcing of our jobs, destroyed our economy, and plunged millions of citizens into poverty and homelessness. You have attempted, at every turn, to restrict our ability to make a better life for ourselves, and our children. For many, you have made attaining the 'American Dream' just a bitter joke.

You said, “Trust us with your country.” You then allowed big business to pollute our air, foul our water sources, plunder our forests and destroy the natural beauty of our land for the sake of their bottom line.

You said, “Trust us with your government.” You then turned our government into a personal piggy-bank for administration cronies, a means to subvert every moral and upstanding thing our country ever stood for, a cesspool of corruption where money-laundering, bribe-taking and back-room deals brokered to the detriment of the populace are things to be applauded and admired rather than investigated and prosecuted.

You said, “Trust us with your freedoms.” You then lost no time in stripping those freedoms away. You bowed low to your political masters and groveled at their feet in abject silence as they broke the law, ignored the Constitution they swore to uphold, and usurped powers not rightfully theirs. You didn’t even have the moral rectitude to draw the line at something as reprehensible as the use of torture.

I believe that is a more than fair summary of what has been promised, and then accomplished, by the Republican Party in the past six years.

Have I forgotten anything – perhaps “trust us with your children”?

You are now on notice.

We, the People, will take this country back – make no mistake about it. We will fight your corruption, your lies, your spinelessness, your immorality, your greed, and your out-and-out treason against your nation and your fellow citizens.

We will do it. Trust us.

Loaded with talking points, Grand Cyclops Bewsh blathers on and on, stuttering, finger-pointing and dividing. No one's buying it anymore, Chokewhore. You're a FAIL.URE. All of you. You failed to protect the American people. You allow and participate in victim blaming on a wholesale basis. Six years out of office and your administration STILL cannot cease to blame the Clenis for your every gaffe. Democratic Underground does not have the server space to list everything horrible, detrimental and just plain unethical you've done to the entire world.

Will you please SHUT THE FUCK UP and for the good of mankind RESIGN IMMEDIATELY so we can get someone who can actually RUN the damned country successfully?

The GOP firebombing would be apocalyptic.

No president is ever allowed to make such ridiculous statements.

any president who says that in public has totally taken leave of his senses.

Imagine Carter, Reagan, Nixon writing off the entire opposition party while holding the majority in all 3 branches of government.
