'Sick and sad,' Foley voters say of sex scandal

PALM BEACH: For Florida voters like Lynn Braun, Mark Foley's fall from grace has left them feeling queasy and facing a dilemma over how and whether to vote in the November congressional election.

"It's just sad. Sick and sad," said Braun, 57, of Palm Beach Gardens, as she loaded supplies into her SUV at a convenience store in the shadow of the building that houses Foley's former congressional office.

"I think he needs help. It's just incomprehensible," said Braun, who described herself as "mostly Republican."

...

Voters like Braun, who cast their ballots for Foley two years ago, face what could be an emotional issue in the voting booth. Foley's name remains on the ballot, so anyone wanting to cast a vote for his replacement, state representative Joe Negron, will have to mark the ballot for Foley.

"I won't do it. I won't vote for him," said Braun. "I'll just skip that race."

1. Gee....Thanks For That....
It must be pretty depressing knowing that the person you voted for and supported all those years turned out to be a low life scumbag pedophile.

Maybe MORONS like this should skip EVERY RACE, and just stay home from voting alltogether.

2. Not only that they were a low life,
but that *you* (not you) the voter, gave him the position that allowed for the abuse.

By having voted for Foley, the voters themselves enabled the abuse. Because the abuse was absolutely directly tied to the office.

(In other words, it's not like he was abusing the kids at his church, or YMCA, or whatever other non-workplace venues he might have)

9. Not Exactly
It will be one less vote against him. These repubs can only be counted on hopefully NOT voting, but they're still too MORONIC to vote for the correct side.

7. My guess is about half of the disgusted Republican voters will stay home
and half will just skip that race. The 30 % or so true believers will go ahead and vote for Foley to cast a vote for Negron. It won't be nearly enough and Dems up and down the ballot should benefit somewat.

10. I hope Foley is enjoying his 'one-eyed snake' tonight
That's all the lovin' he'll be getting for now on. He just made a total ass out his voters for sure. Maybe they ought to send him a bottle of lotion for his birthday.
