"A High Court judge in London said he will overturn Mayor Ken Livingstone's four-week suspension from office for comments he made comparing a Jewish newspaper reporter to a Nazi concentration camp guard.
Justice Andrew Collins said today he will ``not maintain the penalty'' against Livingstone and that he plans to issue a full ruling later.
Livingstone had no comment, said a spokeswoman, Joy Johnson.
The mayor filed an appeal with the High Court seeking to overturn the suspension, which was imposed by the Adjudication Panel for England in February. The panel, which reviews the conduct of local government officials, ruled that Livingstone brought his office into disrepute.
Livingstone, who oversees the city of 7.5 million residents, has refused to apologize for the comments and said the three- member adjudication panel shouldn't have the power to remove elected officials from office."
