Threats to Iran unacceptable: Russia foreign ministry
MOSCOW (Reuters) - Russia and China agree that using or threatening force against Iran is unacceptable and presenting Tehran with ultimatums is counter-productive, Interfax news agency quoted a Russian Deputy Foreign Minister as saying.

"The positions of our two countries coincides that the use of force or the threat to use force is absolutely unacceptable," the agency quoted Alexander Alexeyev as saying on Friday when asked about Russian and Chinese policy on Iran.

"Talking to them (Tehran) in the language of ultimatums and attempts to force them into a corner are counter-productive," Interfax quoted him as saying.

3. NOTE: "Russia and China agree"
Just saying...that hasn't happened much in the last half century. We ought to pay attention to it, no matter what CNN says.

5. W is peeing into the wind. Rice knew it, didn't want to face it.
She visits with third tier despots in the middle east rather than facing reality, her scheduled meeting with the major powers.

9. Perhaps * should say the same about Georgia.
Any threat of force, support to militants, or staging of Russian troops on Georgian soil would be completely unacceptable.

Russia would shut up, and be no more pissed than they are now: Their aid to Abkhazia for the last decade, in order to make sure Georgia is almost certain to fail as a state--so that Russia can rush in to save them--is a disgrace, and should have appeared before the UN Sec. Council long ago.

11. Russia and China Together Can Hopefully Stop These Monsters From Attacking
Iran. I just can't see them standing idly by if we attack Iran and I can't believe Bushco. would be suicidal enough to get into a war w/ Russia and China by attacking Iran. We would get our asses handed to us. Hopefully this would put the kaibosh on any plans to attack Iran before the election. Hopefully. Though I could be wrong and they may be that crazy/stupid/suicidal.

13. Isn't this sad that we are counting on Russia and China to stop
the madman that is in the White House. All my hope is riding on two countries that in normal times I would be condeming for their horrible human rights records.

We have fallen so low.
