U.S. Asks Korea to Halt Arms Sales to Venezuela

U.S. Asks Korea to Halt Arms Sales to Venezuela

Washington has asked Seoul to refrain from selling arms to Venezuela, which has lately emerged as a leader in the international anti-U.S. camp. “The U.S. recently asked our government through diplomatic channels not to allow weapons sales to Venezuela,” a government source here said. Sources say there are concerns in the arms industry that the request could mean a major setback for export negotiations.

Korean defense firms were apparently in the midst of clinching sales of aircraft components, high speed ships, communications equipment and trench mortars to Caracas. The government will make its position on the matter known after feeling out whether the U.S. was only referring to products that include U.S. components. Last May, the U.S. announced an arms embargo against the Central American nation citing what it called an uncooperative attitude in Washington’s “war on terror.”

Venezuelan Defense Minister Adm. Orlando Maniglia recently complained that the U.S. government has blocked U.S. and even Israeli and Korean firms from supplying replacement parts for Venezuela’s F-16 fighters despite the fact that Caracas already paid for them.

1. Did that just happen? Talk about a bomb.
The Korea to the south? But but but, okay well let's get back to Foley so we can ignore what is going on in Iraq so we can forget about Katrina which let us focus away from 911 and on and on.

2. "...uncooperative attitude in Washington's 'war on terror'"??????
Like, maybe they outed a CIA agent, or an entire CIA counter-proliferation network?

Or invaded the wrong country?

Or slaughtered tens of thousands of innocent people, and tortured many more, creating a terrorist a minute?

Or bungled the capture of Osama bin Laden?

Or alienated every government on earth one way or another?

Or lied about weapons of mass destruction?

Or failed to protect our nation's capitol during an attack?

Or refused to extradite a known terrorist wanted for bombing an airliner full of people, sending them all to their fiery deaths?

What? What has Venezuela done that is "uncooperative"?

Quite frankly, if I were Venezuelan right now, I think I'd feel like showing the Bush Junta what "uncooperative" means.

Yet another potential friend that the Bush Junta has alienated, for no good reason except that they don't like the idea of a country's oil revenues being used to help the poor, build schools, provide medical care, and create a decent society. Well, we learned how opposed to a good society the Bush Junta is, in Iraq, and we're learning it here as well.

I hope North Korea tells them to stick it where the sun don't shine. They might, too. They have a peace-loving leftist government that is well aware of the ways the Bushites have provoked North Korea.

4. Luis Posada is the Bin Laden of the Americas
Bush is a terrorist and a tyrant and he protects terrorists like Luis Posada Carriles.

Luis Posada is the Bin Laden of the Americas

Venezuelan Foreign Minister Nicolas Maduro tells Granma.

CARACAS.—“Have you ever asked what would happen if tomorrow Osama Bin Laden was captured in any corner of the world and the people of the US were denied the right to bring him to trial?” asked Venezuelan Foreign Minister Nicolas Maduro in an interview with Granma.

“The US government protects terrorists,” said the Venezuelan foreign minister.

“Well that’s the same situation Cuba and Venezuela are in, because Luis Posada Carriles is the Bin Laden of the Americas,” said Maduro.

The foreign minister spoke about the case involving the terrorist who has taken up refuge in the United States and denounced efforts to grant him political asylum.

The interview took place at Maduro’s office in the Foreign Ministry in Caracas on the 30th anniversary of the plane sabotage known as the Barbados Crime, because it took place off the coast of that Caribbean island.

6. Bushco must really want reduced Venezuelan oil imports.
Any country that doesn't kowtow to our multinationals is a "threat" that must be "sanctioned".

7. US Policy:
Any nations which have OIL: keep them down, make sure they never have any power. Create chaos, upheavals, foment violence and political overthrows.

Since WE are dependent on them, we CANNOT allow them to have any kind of power.

If you think of this policy, it solves all the mysteries around Iraq, Iran, Nigeria, and Venezuela.
