(DNA) Tests confirm man killed by British in Iraq was Al-Qaida terrorist

Tests confirm man killed by British in Iraq was Al-Qaida terrorist who escaped from U.S. prison in Afghanistan
The Associated Press

BAGHDAD, Iraq DNA tests have confirmed that a man shot and killed by British forces in Iraq was the leading al-Qaida terrorist who embarrassed the U.S. military by making an unprecedented escape from a maximum security military prison in Afghanistan, the U.S. command said Tuesday.

Omar al-Farouq was shot and killed Sept. 25 after he opened fire on British forces during a raid on his home in Basra, 340 miles (547 kilometers) southeast of Baghdad.

British forces had said at the time that they had hoped to capture the suspect, but had returned fire on him when he started shooting at them.

"After taking photographs and gathering DNA evidence from the individual, ground forces left the suspected terrorist remains at the site," the U.S. military said in a short statement. "It was later determined through DNA gathered the individual killed was Omar al-Farouq."

1. why and how did they have his DNA from before to compare?
If they were in a position to get his DNA, they were in a position to nab him.

this makes no sense to me whatsoever.

3. he was in a US prison in Afghanistan
before escaping and going to Iraq, apparently. it is standard procedure, I bet, for the Military to take DNA samples from prisoners.

5. I was unaware, but INTERESTING, he was key witness to prisoner abuse
http://www.theinsider.org/news/article.asp?id=1660

The star witness in the trial of US troops for prisoner abuse in Iraq and Afghanistan has mysteriously disappeared. Omar al-Farouq would have been the first detainee to testify against an American soldier.

The US regime previously claimed that Omar al-Farouq was a "top al-Qaeda operative" and "one of Osama bin Laden's top lieutenants", but now they claim that he was somehow able to escape. The only evidence of his escape is an anonymous "leak" to the mass media, as usual from an "unnamed" US official.

Three other witnesses are said to have "escaped" at the same time, so the only four people ever to succeed in an "escape" from a Guantanamo-bay-style maximum secitity US military prison all happen to be witnesses who wanted to testify against the US military.

There is sufficient anecdotal evidence here to justify asking the question: is the US military willing to eliminate people who threaten their position in occupied countries? Yet there is no hint of this obvious question in the western media. As previous examples demonstrate, the mass media would not be so restrained if the same incident happened in an enemy state.

4. Didn't you hear?
They've found the terrorism gene. All they have to do now is run a DNA test.

6. My God, what medical science can do
these days. They found an Al Queda gene! These terrorists will never be able to hide. They will be tracked down by the gene police. This information will really put them in the "last throes."
