Foley complained to Gov. Bush of being snubbed by president

TALLAHASSEE -- Then-U.S. Rep. Mark Foley complained in an e-mail to Gov. Jeb Bush in 2004 that he was being ignored by President Bush on his trips to Florida after several hurricanes.

Foley resigned his congressional seat last month after his sexually explicit instant messages to former male pages became public. Before then, the Republican had maintained a regular dialogue with the Florida governor on a number of issues, mostly inconsequential, by e-mail.

...

"I can't quite figure what I have done, but this is a continuing pattern of slights," Foley complained in a Sept. 29, 2004, e-mail to the governor.

"Sorry to trouble you ... and I wouldn't if this wasn't so frequent," Foley wrote. "Have I done something to offend the White House? I am always getting the shaft."

The governor responded less than three hours later that he thought it was because the president was spending a lot of time in debate preparation in his 2004 re-election campaign.

7. I agree
I cannot think of any logical reason why Bush would snub Foley unless he or a member of his inner circle were given a "heads up" about Foley's activities.

4. They've known this man was gay all along
Who are they kidding? GOP basically lied to their 'Christian' EVILangelist base. There's a new book coming out called "Keeping the Faith?" that describes how the Boosh admin. ignored Christian conservatives. Watch MSNBC tonight to find out more about it.

14. From what I've read,
practically everyone knew he was gay. I would imagine that Bush did too. Might explain Bush avoiding him.

8. Foley says White House snubbed him

MIAMI (Reuters) - Disgraced former U.S. Rep. Mark Foley complained to Florida Gov. Jeb Bush two years ago that the White House snubbed him during presidential visits to the state, according to e-mails obtained by the Palm Beach Post.

(http://www.palmbeachpost.com) on Thursday, Foley asked the (sic)

"Have I done something to offend the White House? ... I am always getting the shaft," Foley wrote to Gov. Bush on September 29, 2004.

This was also on Scarborough Country today and he opined that it makes you wonder what President Bush might have known about Foley's escapades.

Another article on the same topic from the direct source - this one has more of one of the emails:

Foley's e-mail to governor voices fear White House snubbed him

By Dara Kam

Palm Beach Post Capital Bureau

Thursday, October 12, 2006

tallahassee — E-mails from former U.S. Rep. Mark Foley to Gov. Jeb Bush reveal that Foley feared two years ago the White House was shunning him, and he called on the governor, President Bush's brother, to intercede.

Foley wrote to Gov. Bush on Sept. 29, 2004: "Have I done something to offend the White House ... I am always getting the shaft ... they came to ft pierce a few weeks ago and said I was not allowed to attend ... yet joe negron is there ...

"Tomorrow Potus is in Martin County and I am told I am not allowed to be there either. I can't quite figure what I have done but this is a continuing pattern of slights ... I have constantly put the President in the best possible light on everything from haiti to hurricanes ... sorry to trouble you ... and I wouldn't if this wasn't so frequent ..."

11. Is this a good development?

It makes someone in the White House look somewhat smart! Of course, the bigger question is that if EVEN the WHITE HOUSE knew--WHY didn't SOMEONE do SOMETHING?

Hmmmm. On second thought, this debacle may go even higher than Hastert! WOW!
