Ricketts gives $2 million more

BY RICK RUGGLES

WORLD-HERALD STAFF WRITER

Pete Ricketts keeps putting his money where his hopes are.

Ricketts on Friday contributed $2 million more to his campaign against U.S. Sen. Ben Nelson, increasing to close to $12 million the amount Ricketts has personally allocated.

The Omaha Republican has pumped a total of $4.5 million into his U.S. Senate race within the last month alone.

The Nelson-Ricketts campaign is the most expensive in Nebraska history. With Ricketts' latest donation, the candidates had raised a combined total of almost $20 million. The election is Nov. 7.

2. Yes he did

But believe me, we want Ben Nelson, not Pete Ricketts!

4. Steve, isn't Nelson safe?
I understand that Ricketts is throwing massive amounts of his own money into his campaign, but I thought Nelson was as safe in Nebraska as Bernie Sanders is here in Vermont, where another repuke is spending huge amounts of personal money.

3. If Democrats can gain enough seats without Nelson I hope he loses
I would rather have a wolf plain and simple then one dressed like a sheep. I really do not like back stabbers and Nelson is just such a person..

5. I always thought this race was Nelson's easily. But now Senator ES&S
is campaigning for Ricketts (no surprise there, one sleazeball helping another corporate sleazeball), I wonder what will happen. But what with Nelson's record of supporting the bush** administration being better than Hagel's it might still be in the bag.

Nebraska, a two-party state where one party just calls themselves democrats.
