Edited on Tue Oct-17-06 05:02 PM by bluestateguy
Mods: this was released just hours ago.

http://www.surveyusa.com/50State2006/50StateBushApproval061017State.htm

Best: Idaho and Utah, 57%
Worst: Rhode Island, 23%

Worst Red State: Arkansas, 36%
Best Blue State: Hawaii, 40%

Other things of interest:

Texas clocks in at 45%.

Bush is below 50% in all southern states. He is below 40% in four southern states. South Carolina is surprisingly low at 40%.

4. If you ever see a voting map of Texas,
Edited on Tue Oct-17-06 05:18 PM by Xipe Totec
you'll see that everything south of Falfurrias is deep blue democratic.

In fact every major population center along the Rio Grande, from El Paso to Port Isabel is Democratic territory. The red parts of Texas are central and north Texas.

What this means is that there is strong support from the Mexican-American community in Texas for the Democratic party.

Just something to think about when we win back Congress and start talking about immigration reform.

Remember who supported the Democratic party in Texas, even when Texas was a red state.

(edit to add map from 2004 election)

2. Bush has a positive approval rating in only Utah, Idaho and
Wyoming. It must be wierd to live in one of those states. What is it? Mormons still like Bush?

12. Since both Idaho and Utah have many Mormons,
it is reasonable to believe that Mormons support Bush. Up until Bush claimed the White House, I have always been tolerant of fundamentalists. Now I both pity and fear them.

3. I just do not believe he is even at 37%.
In my circle of friends, family, co-workers, & aquaintences (about 200 people) I only know of four people that think he is OK and still support him. That's 2%.

And the director of their polling operations was outed as a card-carrying freeper this morning. (or was that known before?) Priceless.

16. Idaho is where the skinheads live
ID is as racist as it can be. Not sure about UT, where the mormons live.

11. Have to wait
New Congress gets sworn in on Jan 20 2007.

Until then, we gotta deal with the present set of assholes.

15. Wow, 45% in TX?
23% in RI? I'm curious what his ratings look like when you poll black folks. (It's proabably in the negatives.)
