Poll shows Strickland beating Blackwell 2-1 in governor’s race
Associated Press

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Democrat Ted Strickland has a nearly 2-1 lead over Republican Ken Blackwell with three weeks left in the race for governor, a poll released this morning shows.

The Quinnipiac University poll found 59 percent of likely Ohio voters favored Strickland, a Methodist minister and six-term congressman, while 32 percent backed Blackwell, Ohio's conservative secretary of state and a favorite of the religious right.

The poll reveals broad and deep support for Strickland, said Peter Brown, assistant director at the Quinnipiac polling institute in Hamden, Conn. Stickland drew the support of 90 percent of Democrats surveyed, 63 percent of independents and 22 percent of Republicans.

The telephone survey of 901 likely voters was conducted Oct. 10-15 and had a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 3.5 percentage points.

5. If I were Blackwell, I'd be afraid of some very unpleasant
possible repercussions by the people of Ohio if he pushes his abuse of power that far..

He should have been jailed long ago for his criminal acts... I think this would be the final red flag waved in the face of law abiding Ohioans...

4. I would believe this
I live in a totally Repug area and there is only one Blackheart sign and Strickland signs are everywhere. Looks great, all we have to do is be on the ballot and get the votes counted. Will election day ever get here? Peace, Kim

Governor's race turns ugly
Blackwell campaign links Strickland to predators, hints he's gay

BY JON CRAIG | ENQUIRER COLUMBUS BUREAU

COLUMBUS - With Republican Ken Blackwell trailing by double digits in almost every poll, Blackwell's campaign Tuesday tried to link his Democratic opponent to child sex predators - and the state Republican spokesman even raised questions about Ted Strickland's sexuality.

Blackwell and the state GOP say they are only questioning Strickland's integrity and judgment.

The Strickland campaign said the GOP ought to be "ashamed."

At Monday night's final televised debate, and again in a press release Tuesday, Blackwell charged that Strickland should have known that a man arrested for exposing himself to children was on his congressional payroll. He also suggested Strickland backed a U.S. House resolution supported by a group supporting pedophilia....

9. What did Blackwell know about corruption in the Ohio GOP?
Or don't the good old boys let Kenneth come to the meetings, except to fetch another round of drinks? This does indeed smack of desperation on Blackwell's part.

19. Will anyone be the least surprised when Blackwell "wins"?
I won't.

I hope I am wrong about the level of corruption in Imperial "voting", but that it what IO believe and we must be ready for it.
