Union Leader Calls Santorum 'The Anti-Christ'

PHILADELPHIA -- A local union official on Tuesday described Republican Sen. Rick Santorum as "the anti-Christ" on issues affecting working people.

Pete Matthews, president of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, Council 33, made the remarks during a luncheon speech before union retirees.

Santorum is running as the incumbent against Democrat Bob Casey. Both have been engaged in a hard-hitting campaign that could be crucial for the Republicans to keep control of the U.S. Senate.

"I kind of refer to him as the anti-Christ, but I guess I'm not supposed to say that, but that's what he's about," Matthews said, claiming Santorum lacks a record supporting working people.

3. I'm disappointed...I thought this was from the NH Union Leader,
the RW-leaning newspaper. That would have been earth-shaking news. This is still pretty damned good, though. :)

4. LOL! Plus you won't see a Philly union leader apologizing for his words.
I realize he's not a politician, but dang it's good to hear somebody publicly beat down on Santorum like that.

9. rhetoric like this has no place in public discourse
it only strengthens the opposition

stick to the issues and stop with the name calling

this is why the average person can't stand politics

10. I think of him and his ilk as
The New Pharasees. If you ever read the Bible, you'll see the likeness.
