Two British contractors killed in bombing south of Baghdad
BAGHDAD, Oct 13 (KUNA) -- Two British security contractors were killed after an explosive device targeted the US military engineering team they were accompanying between the cities of Karbala and Najaf, said an Iraqi security source on Friday.

The source said the attack took place yesterday and that the two British contractors has suffered serious injuries that caused their death, adding that the vehicle's driver also suffered wounds to the legs.

He added that the team was on its way to Karbala to work on a school construction project there, adding that team was also responsible for several water and electricity projects around the country.

The US Army did not comment on the incident. (end) mhg.

1. Being a mercenary is a thankless job. You'd think the Brits would have
learned that lesson during the American Revolution.

:boring:

2. The Brits have never learned from the past.....
Stack these two mercenaries mustaches on the Brit pile

Grass Bush

Pile the bodies high in Austerlitz and Waterloo Iraq
Shovel them under and let me work--
I am the grass; bush; I cover all.

And pile them high in Gettyburg Baghdad
And pile them high in Ypres and Vedum Mossoul and Al Fallaujah

Two years, ten years, and passengers ask the conductor:
What place is this?

I am the grass bush.
Let me work.

4. What a vile reaction.
Two men die in Iraq and you "yawn" and call them mercenaries?

Guess you didn't notice the fact that they were on their way to a "school construction project".

5. Yeah, "security contractors."
A mercenary by any other name is still a mercenary.

in their vehicle?

I question almost everything I read or hear or see on the news that comes from Iraq or this administration

Contractors are getting paid huge wages from our tax dollars to rebuild what the Bush administration destroyed. Huge profits are being made by the "reconstruction" companies. Why not have the local Iraqis do the work, heck, they have been "rebuilding" for five years, surely they could have provided training for the locals, instead of training them in the use of weapons...

Why not have our military do the work at less cost to US taxpayers???

oh wait, I just noticed your post count....

While the loss of any life is regrettable, that of mass murders and professional killers-for-hire does not make my list for mourning, especially in a country where the occupying government has not even bothered to count the hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians who have been murdered under its rule.

An occupation force rebuilding (as mandated by international law) what it has destroyed has all the emotional punch of giving a candy bar to an orphan whose parents you have just killed.

The use of private rip-off contractors is a disgrace. An occupying force using professional killers-for-hire is obscene.
