1. Just in time for the ramp up to US presidential elections.
Out in 16 days would have really been news.

2. stay in the country until "the job is done." (??)
Anyone ever asked the lying poodle what he 'meant' by "the job is done."?

"I can see over the next 12 to 18 months the Iraqi security forces progressing to a point where they can take on the security responsibilities for the country"

That lunatic criminal could also "see" ('fabricated' lies of) WMDs being deployed in 45 minutes... So who's dumb enough to ever 'believe' in a single yap this poodle-of-war says?

3. So, this puts the date
in February 2008. Watch for numb nuts McCain to become more vocal and appearing on all the talking head shows so that maybe he will get some credit for helping with the withdrawal of troops....Still there will be no clean victory and if I were a Democrat running for the Presidency, i would say "Mr. McCain we all know we stayed too long in Vietnam and more than 10,000 soldiers died, so if you agree this is the way to pull out of Iraq now, why was it not back in 2006, 2007?
I do not care which Democrat says it, but at some point in early 2007 whomever it is that seeks the nomination for the Dem party needs to say, If I am elected we will leave Iraq, and if I had the power to do it now we would leave so that this will be unlike VietNam no more deaths of our sons and daughters.....and we did what we said we would do, set up a government and we have done so.....

5. Arbitrary and ridiculous.
16 months of dead soldiers won't improve a damn thing. It will, however, put the withdrawal on Blair's successor.
