WASHINGTON - Alumni of Gallaudet University gathered Friday at the Washington campus in support of protesters who are asking the president-designate to resign, while protesters and faculty appealed to the university's board of trustees to resolve the dispute.
Some alumni came from around the country despite the school's postponement of homecoming this week. Many support the faculty and students who are demanding that Jane K. Fernandes step down and the presidential search be reopened ...
Protestors have blocked campus gates and demonstrated for the past 10 days. Last Friday, police arrested 133 people who were limiting access to the Northeast campus.
On Saturday morning, protestors plan a march from the Gallaudet campus to the U.S. Capitol.
