German Jewish leader: neo-Nazi attacks just like in Hitler era
BERLIN (EJP)--- The leader of Germany’s Jewish community has warned that the rising number of neo-Nazi attacks recorded this year reminded her of the Hitler era.

"Anti-Semitic and far-right attacks have reached a (level) and aggressiveness which reminds of the period after 1933," said Charlotte Knobloch, president of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, at a conference Tuesday in Berlin about the fight against extreme-right.

Neo-Nazi crime in Germany has risen by about 20 percent this year in tandem with the increasing brutality of attacks by rightists, German officials say.

"Those who speak of ’regrettable incidents’ are glossing over a danger for the entire society," said Knobloch, a Holocaust survivor.

She added : "It is not just a problem for Jewish citizens in our country."

4. You are very correct!
The influence is becoming alarmingly more common. This is due to a number of things, of course.

7. We removed the controls on them.
For six years the US has done nothing but foment sectarian and religious violence.

2. Don't you ever sleep?
Why don't we just go ahead and call them Nazis and get it over with?

5. It's been awhile since I've seen you up at this hour.
What I was saying about the Nazis is, I wonder why we don't just go ahead and drop the neo- prefix. They're actually Nazis, you know. I guess we've been using the prefix to describe post WWII Nazis.

6. Gotcha.
Actually, I have been up around this time, but since the weather here has turned cold, I am not in as big a hurry to go out on the back porch and smoke. :)

As for the Nazi thing, that is an interesting suggestion. I think the reason they are called "neo" is not because the ideology is new, but their methods are. There is also the fact that almost none of them have any real power, unlike the original Nazis. Also, some of their propaganda has undergone changes. The neo-Nazis are also very Islamaphobic, which wasn't a wholly original issue with the Nazi regime. Of course, this is all my opinion.

Thanks for explaining...it has been a long day, so I wasn't sure what was being said! :P

8. Nazi organizations are banned in some countries
In those countries I would expect individuals would avoid referring to their organizations as Nazis without the prefix.

Cold? I didn't know it got cold there. Try a West Virginia winter on for size, then you'll know what cold is.

10. Banned groups.
I think that right-wing groups are finding it more and more comfortable to come out of the dark. It doesn't matter if they are banned, they will yell and shriek they are being victimized by PC-thugs. Look at the extremists that are now plaguing our country, on both sides!

As for cold, well, NOLA doesn't get cold like WV, but for a Southern boy, anything below 65 degrees, chills ya to the bone! :) BTW, I have lived in Pittsburgh and Indianapolis, I know COLD! I just prefer the "cold" that the South has to offer, and it is still too cold for my taste. :)
