Bush 'not satisfied' but says U.S. is 'absolutely' winning

WHITE HOUSE (AP) - If he didn't think the mission in Iraq is vital to U.S. security, President Bush says he'd bring the troops "home tomorrow."

But in a White House news conference, Bush calls it a war "against extremists and radicals" and says security at home depends on Iraq not becoming a terrorist haven. And while he's "not satisfied" with the situation, he says the U-S is "absolutely" winning.

Acknowledging the deaths of 93 U.S. troops this month, Bush says it's of "serious concern" to him. But he says the only way America would lose is by leaving before the job is done.

The president says he believes Americans "want to win" and will be supportive as long as they can see a "path to victory." To that end, Bush says an independent panel is looking at the war, and that he will "carefully consider" any proposal to achieve victory.

1. If we weren't winning the death toll would have been lower this month.
The insurgency is in its death throes.

Imagine how close victory would be if 1,000 troops got killed next month? We'd be on the cusp of ending terror around the world.

What a dumbfuck.

2. More lies
The deaths of our troops in Iraq are of absolutely no concern to bush or his supporters. He has no plan, no goals, no objectives. There is no path to victory. All he has is flag waving morons (an every shrinking number) who believe his drivel and who are too proud and ignorant to admit they have been wrong for years.

4. This was the little king in his most condisending tone.

Low voice, supposedly the voice of reason. Slow speaking, denying anything that remotely smacks of truth. Dubya on drugs.

edit: crap I spelled condisending wrong.

6. bush says "absolutely winning"; everyone else says "losing"
Gee. Who to believe.

"We know where they are. There is no doubt. I wouldn't say these things if I didn't absolutely know. We are liberators, not occupiers."

9. Has anyone else pointed out that bush...
not once, but TWICE, acknowledged that OIL is the real reason we're there?

He painted the spectre of "the terrorists" gaining control of "vast oil fields" and being able to "blackmail" America.

I had to turn off the press conference before it was done, but none of the so-called "Fourth Estate" had so far seemed to react to that.

To me, this is the "smoking gun". After all the rhetoric about regime change and WMD and shoving democracy down their throats (oops, I mean "freeing" them) blah, blah, blah...

HE CAME OUT AND ADMITTED WHAT WE KNEW ALL ALONG! The goal is to control the oil fields. Period. End of discussion. Nothing else matters; everything else is a smoke screen.

They have run out of excuses for prolonging this thing, and have finally decided to use the one that they think will panic the electorate in these final 13 days.

Somebody tell me if I'm off base, but I think this is the October Surprise; he "floated" it to see if there would be a backlash, and if they don't get called out on it pronto, it is going to become the "talking points" for the next 13 days.

10. Winning every battle
But somehow losing the war. On so many fronts.

Let's make real sure President Pinhead gets an unmistakable message on Election Day, shall we? Leave nothing to chance, follow through on every swing, and remember that the more votes, the more better for us.
