Anyone find this as stomach churning as I do?

7. All Gold Star and OIL War moms should be allowed to LINE UP
at 1600 PA Ave on 1/20/09 and have one free punch to the former Administration's executive of their choice.

I can imagine the soldiers they've sent to hell a few times would do a lot worse.

Right hook. Upper cut. Jab. I beat the shit out of that thing over the past year and I do so thinking I am pummeling the face of the Ass Carrot who calls himself the decider. I always end up sobbing anyway. There is this rawness in my heart that just will not go away. The Marines are pushing Ben to go back to Iraq. We had a major fight last week and he hasn't called me since. He is very confused and has PTSD but he will not listen to me. I am getting frantic.

37. Your plea demonstrates a fundamental lack of understanding in how stocks work
"pulling" stocks out means selling them to another individual, not somehow taking the share price worth of cash from the company.

It does not effect the company in any way except to what address they send shareholder meeting notices and quarterly reports.

38. But doesn't a large sale cause the stock value to decline and then
once the shares are worthless the company's own net assets decrease? There are other oil companies and other energy companies that should increase stock value. (solar energy, wind power).

21. The market cap is $ 427 billion
Edited on Thu Oct-26-06 10:22 AM by Yupster
so if they make 10.5 billion a quarter that's 2.5 % a quarter or 10 % a year profit which is certainly good.

If theoretically everyone sold their stock today and put the $ 427 billion into CD's paying 5 %, then they'd make $ 40,000 a minute.

No matter what you do with $ 427 billion you're going to make lots and lots of money in interest.

On edit, just to expand the large numbers theme, this shows why the social security system is f^&*&cked. Supposedly we've been saving hundreds of billions of surpluses to pay out later to social security recipients. Actually the money is spent as soon as it comes in for missiles and things.

Anyway, the government is keeping track of all the interest the surplus is supposed to be making for us, let's say $ 100,000 a minute. All the projections you hear about social security assume that surplus money is actually there and growing by $ 100,000 a minute and will be paid back some day.

I don't know where the government will ever get those trillions of dollars from, and it sure isn't helping by growing the number needed by $ 100,000 a minute.

18. It's A Direct Transfer of Wealth
That money comes directly from a working class that has to travel great distances every day just to work, and thanks to the Republican tax cuts, that money is not re-directed to public transportation systems or lowering the deficit, which would also relieve the working class.

Yet, millions of working class Americans will still support and vote for the status quo, largely because debt is cheap.

22. Well, now they can retire a few more execs at $500 Million each.

Like Lee Raymond.

Exxon is giving Lee Raymond one of the most generous retirement packages in history, nearly $400 million, including pension, stock options and other perks, such as a $1 million consulting deal, two years of home security, personal security, a car and driver, and use of a corporate jet for professional purposes.

29. *bush - America's Interests
This administration has been saying all along it is protecting America's interests (oil companies). The reason for the shock and awe was to divert attention to the oil pipeline being built in northern Iraq. If they can keep the fighting going long enough Iraqi people will give in and turn over all claims to their own commodity (oil) and the Exonn/Mobils can walk away with the prize all paid for by our government(taxpayers). There must be some law that protects our country from this blatent war profit.

39. more corporate greed....atmos energy- natural gas..
This will disgust you! And what can we do? We don't have a choice for our natural gas provider.

Star telegram -AUSTIN -- More than $70,000 in artwork. At least $5 million in office furniture -- including a set of $2,000 chairs. Airline tickets costing more than $1,700 for an executive and a spouse to attend the presidential inauguration of George W. Bush. Thousands of dollars in meals at pricey Dallas restaurants.

These are a few of the seemingly discretionary items critics have found in Atmos Energy's $63 million proposal to increase gas rates for North Texas customers.
