GOP has warnings about shift
Party says Democratic victories would be disastrous

WASHINGTON -- Seeking to boost turnout and sway voters, Republicans are issuing dire warnings about a Democratic victory that would make Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi the speaker of the House and put key Democrats in charge of committees with power to raise taxes, launch investigations and impeach the president.

On Web sites, in news releases and on the campaign trail, the GOP portrays such Democratic lawmakers as New York's Charles Rangel, Michigan's John Conyers, California's Henry Waxman and Massachusetts' Barney Frank as political villains who would overturn or trim major GOP initiatives.

Rarely have potential heads of committees of a new Congress been so vilified by name in opposition campaign material. "I don't see how it will be effective," said Waxman, due to take over the House Government Reform Committee if Democrats win control of the House.

Republicans cite Waxman as a man who would be in charge of "Investigations Central" if Democrats win. The California Democrat said he would be fair and nonpartisan in his probes of fraud, waste and abuse but added that investigations are needed. "The Republicans have given us 12 years of lessons of how not to behave."

5. you got that right
Ever since the election season began and republicans found themselves in deep shit, they started scaring the american people with Rangel (black), John Conyers (black), Waxman (black) and Barney Frank (gay).

I am so sick of this shit. This is so racist and xenophobic and it has to stop.

Is there a Reich Wing commentator who neglected to mention the presence of those scary-ass darkies Sharpton and Jackson appearing within arm's length of Ned Lamont when he gave his acceptance speech in the CT primary? Anyone?

13. They sure are worried about impeachment
I don't know why though, it's not like Bush got a blowjob, he just lied us into a war and lost the war, tortured people, and spied on Americans without a warrant. So what's the big damn deal.

Anyway how is this going to turn out voters, do they think people will turn out to save Bush's worthless hide?

25. This is going to backfire
Waste, budget-busting and the deficit, as well as all the exposed fraud, are what concerns real conservatives, perhaps even more than the war. They're embarassed by the huge spending, the bribes, the earmarks, and all that stuff, stuff Republicans were SUPPOSED to oppose.

A lot them will WELCOME Waxman.
