Iraq's Mosul bans vehicles after threats to police
Mosul, whose population is mostly a mix of ethnic Kurds and Sunni Arabs, has long been a flashpoint of violence, particularly against security forces.

Last week six suicide bombers in vehicles targeted Iraqi and U.S. security forces in the city, a U.S. general said. The attacks, including one involving a fuel truck, killed 20 people in a single day.

"By imposing a vehicle ban we're stopping them from moving freely through the city," a security source said.

1. What will all those car dealers do? Stop cars is un-American
I read it was one of the first deals we handed out to private companies that cars could come in and be sold. Always smart to let in cars and air conditioners into a country having trouble pumping gas and getting watts up.
