Taliban accuse NATO of genocide, vow more attacks
SPIN BOLDAK, Afghanistan (Reuters) - The Taliban accused NATO forces of genocide on Friday after the latest in a series of civilian combat deaths, and said they would step up already rising suicide attacks.

The strict Islamist group's one-legged military commander, Mullah Dadullah, also denied NATO charges the guerrillas used villagers as human shields in combat against foreign forces.

The warning came as a provincial official said a bomb had killed at least 14 civilians in the rugged southern province of Uruzgan on Friday.

"We want to inform the foreign forces and their slaves that their defeat is inevitable in Afghanistan," Dadullah told Reuters by satellite phone from a secret location.

1. We should be withdrawing from iraq and afghanistan
Why we decided to take over afghanistan is beyond me. Albright in that abc liefest said one thing right how before 9/11 to have taken over all of afghanistan wasn't a good idea.

Do we have to have a permanent presence in afghanistan to go after al queda. More al queda are in pakistan.

Wouldn't it be better to be based outside of there so it isn't a magnet for attacks. Don't you want to be mobile.

I would hate to be one of our troops and have jihadists all over the world see on the internet sniper vidoes.

We should want to be mobile not stagnant.

We could relocate and get intelligence and go after al queda. You can leave cia on the ground but this reconstruction/karzai govt/nato-u.s lead operation is not working.

I wish the debate for withdrawing from afghanistan was also in the news.

So we will leave iraq and then the jihadists from iraq will also go to afghanistan. We should leave both places.

People talk about the 2 billion we give israel a year we have spent half a trillion on iraq and afghanistan that will doom our economy not israel.

2. Bagram air base
is a splendid choice for troops when attacking Iran. All of the money spent on defense and Israel is foolish.

3. All the money spent on israel
We are spending half a trillion on iraq and afghanistan and israel is all that money?

I know 2 billion could do a lot for americans but considering we are spending 250 times more on iraq/afghanistan and we give egypt 1.7 billion I don't see why israel is singled out.

Opec made a trillion last year. Iran has made a quater of a trillion extra in oil revenues thanks to bush's iraq war.

2 billion a year the same as we give egypt is not what is dooming our long run economy.

5. ...
Israel is the largest recipient of U.S. Foreign Military Financing (FMF) in all respects. Israel has received more American financial aid, loan assistance and FMF than any other nationstate in history since its creation in 1948.<6> Over the past decade, the United States has transferred more than US $17 billion in military aid to Israel, which helped transform the Israel Defense Forces into one of the most technically advanced military forces in the world.

4. Did you ever think U.S uses that money on israel for a reason
Without U.S giving all that money israel would be free to trade with regimes the u.s doesn't like.

U.S has blocked billions worth of military deals between israel and china. Even last year the u.s blocked a huge military deal between israel and venezuela.

Israel would make far more than 2 billion if they were allowed to trade with countries militarily the u.s blocks them from.

U.S also likes being the decision maker. U.S has done israel no favors by rice forcing them out of the philadephia route which lead to a hundred fold increase of weapons smuggling.

U.S has also forced israel to allow weapons shipments to fatah and fatah uses those same weapons against israelis.

6. What regimes?
Without U.S giving all that money israel would be free to trade with regimes the u.s doesn't like.

Which regimes is that...South Africa? ;)

Bit confusing because the usual tactic is that since ALL of the Middle East is out to get the 'Jewish nation', and since the US doesn't generally trade with those regimes, it would pretty silly for Israel, simply to spite the US, to engage in trade with same regimes, no?

Typical...lots of factual incorrect statements, half truths de-contextualized and a no citations for these extraordinary claims that defy simple logic...and low posts.

8. U.S blocked israel-china and israel-venezuela deals
Those deals were far more than the 2 billion which u.s gives to israel and egypt each year.

I spelled out venezuela and china in the last post.

12. Your forget your own propaganda?
Isn't Chavez is the one of the biggest anti-semites' on the planet?

Didn't he end diplomatic relations with Israel?

Isn't the fact Venezuela forged economic ties with IRAN proof his intentions to destroy Israel?

But you want us to believe that Israel is being kept from doing business with Chavez (selling jet fighter parts) because Americans would like to make the lionshare of profit from technologies they invented?

Would you like fries with order, Sir?

(You guys had better material in the summer... ;)

7. Israel's been the subject of sanctions by Arab countries
since it was founded.

"Made in Israel" is grounds for immediate confiscation in most Arab countries, if it makes it through customs. Hell, even manufactured goods labeled in Hebrew are routinely confiscated and destroyed, even if they're not made in Israel. Jordan and Egypt have relations with Israel, but they're hardly regularized.

It's rather like being Cuba and having not just one neighboring country but most neighboring countries boycott your goods. The US boycott of Cuba we condemn; but the boycott of Israel we conveniently forget.
