Pelosi On Bush Jabs: 'Couldn't Care Less'In S.F. To Visit U.S. Mint

<snip>

Pelosi is poised to become Speaker of the House if Democrats win control of Congress in the upcoming midterm elections. Republicans are using Pelosi in their ads to scare voters into supporting the GOP.

She's been at odds with President Bush over the war in Iraq, and he hasn't held back in criticizing her.

And what does Pelosi think about the things President Bush has said about her?

Rep. Nancy Pelosi, (D) Minority Leader: "I couldn't care less. I think it shows how desperate the Republicans are, that they have to have the president of the United States become their political hit man."

4. Yep, Nancy, when a schoolyard bully tries to annoy you
pretend he doesn't exist. And if he tries something, HIT HIM IN THE MOUTH - HARD.

14. I think her comment is also calculated to piss Chimpy off royally
Mr. Bush doesn't take well to being slighted. Usually, the slights only occur in his own imagination, but here's one right across his bow, as it were. I don't think he can just ignore it, and I'm betting that he'll sound pretty shrill if he tries to address it.

6. Why should she care?

In February she'll have his ass in a sling and the only question remaining will be where to catapult him. He's just whining about it already, the loser.

8. Nice to hear someone say "I couldn't care less"
Instead of the weird incorrect version, "I could care less."

I'm still annoyed at her for saying that impeachment is off the table, but this does help improve my opinion of her.

9. Politically, she had to take impeachment off the table. Rove would use it

as a weapon to rally the sheep.

Let's just wait untill after the new congress is seated. Then it will be up to all of us to demand that all the impeachable offenses be answered for. By both Bush and Cheney.

10. You're probably right
In any case, I've thought all along that if the Democrats get a majority in the House, various members will immediately start doing what they can to get the impeachment process going.

Conviction has no chance in the Senate, but Pelosi could graciously bow to the will of the majority and let impeachment pass.

12. Yes, it makes me cringe
Along with various other, such as "between you and I," or "lay" instead of "lie."

And many others that don't rhyme!

16. I am, a little, too, but I'm feeling a bit better after reading an article
called "Pelosi's Moment" from The Nation (found the link!):

http://www.thenation.com/doc/20061030/greider

Here's the part that I REALLY liked:

Pelosi was asked what was most important about regaining majority status. "Subpoena power," she said.

That tells me a lot. It means our guys and gals are going to start demanding answers OR ELSE, FINALLY holding people who've had a rubber-stamped free ride all this time accountable on pain of perjury. I'm guessing that if she sets her committee chairs loose, they'll come up with all kinds of offenses and malfeasance that MORE than qualifies as high crimes and misdemeanors. There are many here who speculate that she said IMPEACHMENT is off the table merely to throw off the squeamish from the independent or moderate Republican arenas, so they won't be so scared to jump into the water in OUR swimming pool. I think their speculation makes sense. Plus, why wave a red flag in front of an angry bull, and enflame all the republi-CONS and other residents of Dumbfuckistan who will kneejerkedly vote GOP every time, whether it means a ticket straight to Hell or not.

22. Smart strategy!
The remark about "subpoena power" will fly past most voters, but it will cause cause the Neocons to lay in an extra supply of Charmin.
