BAGHDAD, Iraq - The American death toll for October climbed past 100, a grim
milestone reached as a top White House envoy turned up unexpectedly in Baghdad
on Monday to smooth over a rough patch in U.S.-Iraqi ties. At least 80 people
were killed across Iraq, 33 in a Sadr City bombing targeting workers.

A member of the 89th Military Police Brigade was killed in east Baghdad Monday,
and a Marine died in fighting in insurgent infested Anbar province the day before,
raising to 101 the number of U.S. service members killed in a bloody October,
the fourth deadliest month of the war. At least 2,814 American forces have died
since the war began.

8. Don't you find it odd

that the people who so adamantly support this war find so little time to mourn the fallen? They blithely go on their way, saying "It's a war. People die." And slap a magnetic ribbon on their vehicle.
Then the get all red in the face and outraged because CNN has the audacity to show...soldiers dying. How are the Bushbots supposed to enjoy their spoiled existence when CNN shows ugly reality? It's so upsetting to their "beautiful minds". (Thank you, Barbara Bush).

In a brief statement, the military said one Baghdad-based soldier was killed at about 5:00 p.m. Monday after being hit by small arms fire during combat in a western district of the Iraqi capital.

A second Baghdad-based soldier was killed at around 5:30 p.m. Monday when his vehicle was struck by a roadside bomb just south of the city."
