Foley extends rehab, acquaintance says
Edited on Tue Oct-31-06 06:17 AM by DoYouEverWonder
October 31, 2006

Former U.S. Rep. Mark Foley has extended his 30-day stay at a pricey rehab center in Arizona, according to acquaintances.

With the nation gearing up for next week's elections and a federal investigation probing his sexual Internet messages to teenaged former congressional pages, Foley has decided to remain at Sierra Tucson, a rehab center where he has been treated for alcoholism since Oct. 1.

<snip>

But as his 30th day at the center passed Monday, Foley remained for further therapy, an acquaintance said.

"Mark has not left the program," said a source close to his family. "His release date has yet to be determined."

Foley's attorney, Gerald Richman, said he "had no information" about when Foley will leave the center.

Why am I not surprised that this coward is going to hide out until after the election. Anyone else would be in jail by now instead, but Foley seems to be able to do whatever he pleases.

1. It isn't jail he avoids so much as the press. . .
Once he leaves rehab, he'll be fair game for everyone with a mic, and I don't think any Republican wants Foley speaking anytime soon.

4. KKKarl Rove gave him a call
and told him to stay in rehab. They can't have the press reminded to talk about Foley right now since they seem to have forgotten all about the pedophile and the cover up.

6. I suppose....
...that the cost of keeping him out of the public eye COULD be a legitimate republican campaign expense.

7. KKKarl On The Phone "KEEP THAT MOTHERFUCKER BURIED UNTIL NOV 8."
Did anyone really think La Cage Aux Foley was going to be preforming at a theater near you before the election? I'm not sure we will ever see or hear from Mr Foley again. I'm serious.

10. To my knowledge, Foley has not been charged with a crime.
If anyone has evidence to the contrary, let's see it.

He can stay in rehab, no matter how "pricey", for as long as he can pay for it. It is a buffer zone against the free press.

Does it usually take this long to press charges in a case like this, if charges are to be made?

11. He can't be questioned by authorities either
while he's in rehab, so maybe that's why no one has pressed charges yet?

Foley's rehab is just a good excuse to make him untouchable until after the election.

13. My first thought? Some of us can't even get in a hospital for
life-saving or much needed medical care. He's this predatory republican pederast has insurance to hide himself off from the authorities and the public for as long as who ever it is that makes this decision feels necessary.

Is it insurance that he had while a 'public servant'? I hope he's paying for it himself now because it ain't our responsibility.

15. Most people who want to go to rehab
Can't even get in because often there is no room for them or the waiting list is months long.
