Fight for 3rd District intensifies

BY JAKE THOMPSON

WORLD-HERALD BUREAU

WASHINGTON - In a sign that Nebraska's 3rd District House campaign is now on the national political radar, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee launched $100,000 in television advertising to help Scott Kleeb in the heavily Republican district.

"We think he is a very strong candidate," committee spokeswoman Sarah Feinberg said Tuesday of Kleeb, a ranch hand from Dunning. "We want to assist in any way we can."

The pro-Kleeb ads aim to blanket the 3rd District airwaves, Feinberg said.

Kleeb faces Republican Adrian Smith, a two-term state senator, at the polls Tuesday.

1. OH YEAH
Now Scott can win or lose on merit and not simply get snowed under a mountain of negative ads. I think he has a 50-50 chance of doing the unthinkable, but maybe I'm just delusional :)
