GREELEY, Colo. (AP) - President Bush encouraged voters to select candidates who will lower taxes and defend "traditional values" as he kicked off the final campaign weekend in a state where gay marriage dominates the political debate.

Colorado voters face a pair of choices Tuesday that affect the rights of gay couples. The issue took on a new intensity last week with the allegations that a prominent Colorado Springs minister who criticized gay marriage secretly paid for sex with a man for years.

Meanwhile, Democrat Angie Paccione has used the issue in her attempt to unseat Republican Rep. Marilyn Musgrave - a leading congressional critic of gay marriage - in rural Colorado's 4th District. No Democrat has won the district in more than 30 years, but Paccione is putting up such a challenge that Bush came to town to try and give Musgrave a boost three days before the Election Day.

"She has worked to prevent the institution of marriage from being redefined by activist judges," Bush said to thousands rallying for the GOP at a cavernous event center. "She understands your values, and that's another reason to send her back to the United States Congress."

10. It should read "Taxes, Low Values" since AMT is going to hit hard
and we know what all the "low values" issues are.

2. 100 protesters were in Greeley.
Why does Bush think that the appearance of hard campaigning will overcome his lack of ideas?

3. Less taxes to the feds and more to the locals. and nice values.
As people coming in to the country in the middle of the night take over the state. The whole thing in this country is nuts.

4. Traditional values....
Like invading countries illegally...raping the Constitution...covering for pedophile politicians propositioning pages (how's that for alliteration??)...fighting for the "rights" of the fetus, while real people with actual birthdates die from lack of medical care, starvation, gang violence, abuse and neglect....

Thanks, but I'll pass on those "values". :puke:

GREELEY, Colo. (Reuters) - President George W. Bush vowed on Saturday to stick with the war in Iraq and Democrats said they would fight for a new course in the conflict in the final weekend of campaigning before Tuesday elections in which control of the U.S. Congress is at stake.

"I understand the consequences of retreat," Bush told thousands of Republican loyalists at a rally. "That's why we'll support our troops, that's why we'll fight in Iraq, and that's why we'll win in Iraq."

He was unfazed by a heckler at the rally for Colorado Republican Rep. Marilyn Musgrave's re-election bid. "Get out of Iraq," the heckler shouted from a perch on a tractor before he was hustled out.

Democrats, feeling good about their chances of seizing the Republican-led House of Representatives and possibly the Senate as well, said it was time for a change.

12. Bush is de-valuing...
the long-valued value of the word "values" in our valuable system of valuation. For instance: What picture does the term "family values" conjure in your mind right now?

Unlike Unpresident Bush, I value your opinion.

the rest of the civilized world's.

15. Did he mention the tax cuts on the Chinese credit card?
Didn't think so. If these people had any clue what "values" were, they'd hike taxes and institute universal health care so 1/6 of the citizenry didn't have to worry about dying a premature death for lack of coverage. But noooooooooooooooo - "values" is keeping gays from marrying. Maybe I'm starting to agree with that, in a way. Rev. Ted should not have been allowed to marry his wife and bear 5 children who will now being dealing with a train wreck of a life.

17. Whatever happened to the American tradition of heckling pols?
That dumbass who screamed "Get out of Iraq!" before Bush's goons hustled him off just didn't have a clue.

When Bush started talking about "values" was the time to mention Jeff Gannon, Mark Foley and Ted Haggard.
