Gibbons friend claims defamation by Nevada Democratic party head
this is too damn funny!!! they are desperate!! He pulls this shit today!!!

RENO, Nev. (AP) - A Nevada businessman has filed a defamation lawsuit against a state Democratic party chief, claiming he was falsely depicted as having made illegal payoffs to Nevada congressman and Republican gubernatorial candidate Jim Gibbons.

In the lawsuit filed Monday in Washoe County District Court, Warren Trepp, chief executive of eTreppid Technologies, accused Tom Collins, state Democratic Party chairman, of suggesting that Trepp gave cash and other gifts to Gibbons to help eTreppid land federal contracts.

Collins issued a statement calling the lawsuit "frivolous," and accusing Gibbons of using it to shield himself from questions about ties to eTreppid.

"Rather than file a frivolous lawsuit, Jim Gibbons needs to answer these charges," Collins said.

Trepp issued a statement saying he wants to take the case to court "to clear my tarnished name." He seeks more than $50,000 in damages based on Collins' comments about a federal court motion filed Friday by Democrats seeking to unseal records in a lawsuit involving Trepp and a former business associate.

Democratic party leaders said they believe unsealed records will show "potential improper conduct" in Gibbons' friendship with Trepp, a software business owner and Republican party donor.

1. Please, oh please
let the fates prevent him from becoming our next governor... I have never loathed a local politician with such fervor.
