Democrat Harry Mitchell had a 5,500-vote lead over Republican U.S. Rep. J.D. Hayworth in Arizona's 5th Congressional District race as the vote count concluded its sixth day on Sunday.
Hayworth has refused to concede until all the votes are counted. Mitchell, meanwhile, was quoted on the front page of Sunday's New York Times on the need for more civil political discourse as he prepares for orientation sessions in Washington.
As of Sunday, Hayworth had 79,792 votes to Mitchell's 85,318.
(Snip)
About 250,000 ballots piled up in early voting and are being processed at the rate of about 25,000 a day. At that rate, officials expect they will be counting through the week.

FOLKS! Hayworth is still refusing to concede, even though statistically, there is no way he can win this race FAIRLY! And, the Republican operatives in charge of the count still say it's "too early" to declare a winner. They still say it will take another WEEK to finish the vote count.
Something tells me that JD is going to make a "miraculous" comeback and end up "winning" this thing. The local media is working overtime to prepare for this, making much of JD's incremental gains each day.
Of course, what can we expect from that bullying asshole? That he would accept his defeat?!?!
I am just sick over this.
