Durbin dismisses Bush's call for patience in Iraq

ST. LOUIS Illinois' Dick Durbin is soon to be the second-ranking Democrat in the new Senate, and he isn't fond of President Bush's continued calls for patience on the U-S mission in Iraq.

During a news conference today in St. Louis, Durbin said it's time for Iraqis to stand up and defend their own country.

Durbin says America has been patient and U-S troops heroic. But he says it's time for Iraqis to show some leadership.

Durbin's comments came as Bush was in Vietnam, launching a four-day visit.

3. That's my Senator!
I have written him many times and he is always very gracious and seems to value my input. He makes me proud to be from Illinois.
