Report: Russia to start shipping nuclear fuel to Iran next March
From AP via Ha'aretz ~1 hour ago:

MOSCOW - Russia in March will start delivering nuclear fuel for the plant it is building in Iran, the head of a state company in charge of the project said Monday, according to Russian news reports.

--snip--

Shmatko said his company would start preparations in January for nuclear fuel deliveries to Bushehr, and begin actual shipments in March, six months ahead of the physical launch of the Bushehr nuclear reactor.

Russia's Federal Nuclear Agency chief Sergei Kiriyenko has said that the
start-up of the Bushehr reactor would take place in September 2007, and that the plant would come online in November 2007.

Russia and China, which have major commercial ties with Iran, have been
pushing publicly for dialogue instead of UN punishment of Iran over its
nuclear activities.

1. Hey Bush! What about using some of that capital you have now?

It would seem Russia and China couldn't care less about what you think.

3. If "they" want to take out Bushehr without causing a radiological disaster
then "they" are going to have to take it out before it becomes operational.

The clock is ticking...

4. Off topic-I wonder if Iran was Putin's "other powers"
The first time Putin came to the US he was about to leave and he and W had a joint press conference. Putin said that there were "other powers" who had contacted him to find out if he wanted to take advantage of the US getting bogged down in Afghanistan. The comment of course flew right past W's head and received almost no mention in the press.

I wonder if Iran was who he was talking about.
