Roberts confirms he'll leave Intelligence Committee
Associated Press

WASHINGTON - Sen. Pat Roberts confirmed Wednesday that he is leaving the Senate Intelligence Committee after serving as its chairman the past four years.

The Kansas Republican is moving to the Senate Finance Committee.

Roberts has tangled with Democrats on the Intelligence panel over its investigation into prewar intelligence on Iraq. Senate officials have said Roberts has grown weary of the infighting and did not look forward to serving in the minority.

Roberts says his new assignment will allow him to work on issues that are "important to the daily lives and pocketbooks of his constituents."

2. In light of Sen. Johnson's situation ... if Pat Roberts can still serve
Sen. Johnson should be able to make a recovery and still be in Congress. (Haven't there been rumors that Roberts is exhibiting early Alzheimer's symptoms? "Memory pills" indeed ... )

3. I thought a lot of repukes who thwarted justice would get the hell out of the way by now.
All Roberts would do is look like a Bush butt lick when the truth comes out.

that motherfucker gives a damn about the "daily lives and pocketbooks" of his constituents. He's just tired of being bush's bitch and protector on an explosive committee.

32. Same as Hastert.
These folks have to leave the positions they held because they instituted rules that were so heinous and so undemocratic that the only hope Repukes now have to get any say in any committee is to shuffle the players and blame the ones that left for all the mean rules that the remaining members will now say they secretly loathed and did not support.

Liars!

12. He wants to be the hell away when Sen. Rockefeller releases the documents ....
...... that Roberts has been keep under wraps for bush & Co..
Little things like:

Pre war Iraqi intel
9-11 intel
NSA spying

Because Roberts read this data he knows how damning it is .... if it
was exculpatory for bush it would have been released long ago.

14. I get the feeling he's going to be facing some legal troubles very soon.
Remember all those cover-ups of intelligence leaks in the Intel Committee involving him and Richard Shelby? I know Shelby is a recipient of Abramoff donations. Roberts engaged in a WMD/Niger/Yellowcake/Plame cover-up and he blocked an investigation into Shelby over leaks of classified intelligence information relating to al Qaeda and 9/11. I wonder if Roberts is by any chance linked to Hastert/Turkey/Deep State. Hmmmm.

29. He's got a lot to answer for and be accountable for -- if he's not
ON the committee that he so willingly helped aid George Bush's illegal war, then he doesn't look so guilty. People tend to "forget" about the past evil-doers.

Self-serving bastard, like they all are.

22. I am disappointed but not surprised.
I was looking forward to watching Jay rub his nose in it, but I figured the GOP would move him. Whitewash Roberts is not interested in defending his behavior as chairman, and staying on the committee would have put him in that position more often.

28. Roberts has grown weary of the infighting
And now that he doesn't have the absolute advantage of being in the majority and chairman of the committee, he's cutting and running.

What a whiny ass titty baby Sen. Roberts is. Made a mess, and doesn't want to hang around while it's being cleaned up.
