Reuters - No More Corruption! |
|
"BRUSSELS (Reuters) - Prime Minister Tony Blair said on Friday a decision to stop a corruption inquiry into a multi-billion-pound defence deal with Saudi Arabia was vital to British interests and he took full responsibility.
"If we had allowed this to go forward, we would have done immense damage to the interests of this country," Blair told reporters in Brussels where he was attending an EU summit."
Just as evidence of the massive bribes paid to all and sundry began to surface, the Prime Minister deemed it necessary to end the enquiry! I guess he isn't used to enquiries that actually come up with the inconvenient truth.

2. What power do the Saudis have over the rest of the world? |
|
That is scary. My tin foil theory is that it would implicate a bunch of high ranking people stretching around the world and we can't have that now can we...:sarcasm:

The Saud's threatened to cancel a multi million dollar order for aircraft. That would have caused corporate problems as well as layoffs. Though call. There was no easy answer there.

bribery is illegal, and doesn't become legal just because Tony Blair thinks his friends may be embarrassed by an investigation. And we shouldn't be selling arms to non-democratic countries that practise torture.

8. Cheney, COME! Blair, SIT! |
|
Looks like Saudi Arabia has come into its own. Who else could treat the United States and Great Britain like well trained dogs and actually have them obey?
I pledge allegience to the oil of the Kingdom of the Saud and to the republics which it controls, one nation over all, with bribery and cruelty for all.
