Four U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq's Anbar province

Reuters
Friday, December 22, 2006; 3:02 AM

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Four U.S. soldiers were killed on Thursday in Iraq's restive
western province of Anbar, the U.S. military said on Friday.

"Three Marines and one sailor assigned to Regimental Combat Team 7 died Thursday
from wounds sustained due to enemy action while operating in Al Anbar Province,"
the U.S. military said in a statement. Sailors are normally attached to Marine
units as medics. Anbar, the heartland of the Sunni Arab insurgency, is the
deadliest region for U.S. troops in Iraq.

5. The Holiday season will never be the same for these families-as the
memory of their loved ones and the fact they were killed will linger each year.
