Bush urges prayers, gifts for Iraq GIs
Bush urges prayers, gifts for Iraq GIs

By JENNIFER LOVEN, Associated Press Writer 26 minutes ago

WASHINGTON -
President Bush on Saturday told troops who are spending Christmas far from their families that "the coming year will bring change" — but no reduction in support for their service and sacrifice.

The president is rushing to craft a course correction for the increasingly unpopular Iraq war. New Defense Secretary Robert Gates, who returned Friday night from a three-day reconnaissance trip to Iraq, joined Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, White House national security adviser Stephen Hadley and others to brief the president Saturday at Camp David.

Bush is spending the long Christmas weekend with his family at the presidential retreat in the Maryland mountains. On Dec. 26, Bush flies to his Texas ranch, where he'll be until Jan. 1.

.........

"If you're serving on the front lines halfway across the world, it is natural to wonder what all this means for you," the president said in his weekly radio address, taped before he left Washington for the holiday. "I want our troops to know that while the coming year will bring change, one thing will not change, and that is our nation's support for you and the vital work you do to achieve a victory in Iraq."..............

7. They don't even have clothes
for many of the injured soldiers to wear. Of course, when you get injured, it usually involves a lot of blood and any clothes that get bloody have to be thrown away.

My husband & I own a screen printing company and we just sent cases of 'dud' t-shirts to Iraq, so they can have something to put on these poor kids wounded. I can't believe that for a billion plus a week, BushCo can't afford to make sure these guys have enough clean shirts to wear.

5. What family is he spending the holiday with?
other than Pickles and Barney, and his other "wife" Condi?

His daughters obviously have nothing but contempt for him, as they have already announced they will continue their romp through South America.

Poppy, Mommy, Jebby and the rest of the crew probably have alternate plans this year as well, as he is the equivalent of poison to the rest of the family at this point.

Pour another drink and pop another ambien Chimp, it's gonna be an early night.

6. My mom, bless her heart, has been doing what she can...
Most recently, she arranged for the donation of 90 subscriptions to Playboy and Penthouse for GIs who are in the hospital, recovering from injuries, amputations, and the like. She's a funny lady :-)

11. Pray. He tells us to pray. He gets us into the biggest debacle in US history with LIES and then he
has the audacity to tell us to pray.

If you represent a truly religious man, mr. bush, you are going to create the largest number of atheists our country has ever seen.

15. Too bad he couldn't give them all a flight home
Isn't it nice that he gets to spend the holidays with his family, including the twins? If the bastard had a heart, he'd spend his holidays working on a way to get every last American out of the mess he created.

16.  Bush should be in Iraq right now
Instead of sitting on his fat ass in Crawford relaxing taking time off . Bush and all his corrupt gang should be there serving diner and guarding the troops while they get the week off and then bring in the planes to get them out before new year .

But this certainly won't happen .
