Democrat thanks troops, calls for bipartisanship in radio address
Edited on Sat Dec-23-06 01:11 PM by cal04
Democrats are echoing President Bush's call for Americans to thank U.S. troops this Christmas.

In the party's weekly radio address, Indiana Senator Evan Bayh says "the brave men and women" serving in the military top the nation's list of "blessings."

He also issued a plea for bipartisanship in Washington, saying Republicans and Democrats have "more in common than the differences that divide us."

Democrats formally take control of both houses of Congress in January.

1. He's dreaming if he thinks that B*sh has any real
plan to suddenly "get" the concept of bipartisanship. It has less of an impact on him than the "listening tours"..

He keeps no counsel but his own. Never has. Never will.

2. I think that a few years...
Of getting nothing and having to like it will do wonders for the repukes' dispositions. Right now, they need to fulfill their roles as publicly-acknowledged utter failures. The focus of much laughing and pointing.

3. "Democrats Should Hold Bush to Bipartisanship Pledge, Bayh Says"
Congressional Democrats should hold President George W. Bush to his pledge of bipartisanship and seek to work with the administration to advance energy, health and education goals, Senator Evan Bayh said today in the Democrats' weekly radio address.

I feel better after reading it in this light. BUSH is the one who needs to adopt a new bipartisan attitude.

4. "Bipartisanship"? How about a Bipartisan BUSH IMPEACHMENT?
That is about the only "bipartisanship" I can support.

5. That's nice. But the party should be thanking...
... the people in the US and around the world that:

1. warned and organized against the war before it began ;

2. continue to work against it.

This would include some in the armed services and many in Bayh's party but sadly... not Bayh himself.

6. Why doesn't Bayh call for our stupid governor to recall the Indiana Guard back home?
Edited on Sat Dec-23-06 06:37 PM by IndianaGreen
Every governor in every state should be pressured to order the National Guard home, and to refuse to cooperate with the federal government in its efforts to turn our beloved Guard into neocon canon fodder.
