Vatican official says executing Saddam would be wrong

ROME A Vatican official says executing Saddam Hussein would punish "a crime with another crime."

Pope Benedict's top prelate for justice issues acknowledges Saddam's crimes but says capital punishment goes against church teachings.

Cardinal Renato Martino is quoted today in a Rome newspaper. Martino says life must be safeguarded from its beginning to its "natural" end.

if you execute Saddam for crimes against humanity, then you must execute Bush as well. after all bush is a worse war criminal. and saddam did not do anything we did not ALLOW him to do (and in fact arm him to do).
