Bush seeks $10.6 billion in extra Afghan aid
Bush seeks $10.6 billion in extra Afghan aid

BRUSSELS (Reuters) - The Bush Administration will ask the U.S. Congress for an additional $10.6 billion in security and reconstruction assistance for Afghanistan, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said on Thursday.

Rice told reporters $8.6 billion would be dedicated to training and equipping Afghan army and police forces and $2 billion to reconstruction.

Rice said the new effort partly reflected a new desire to counter the Taliban's recent resurgence in Afghanistan.

2. How do I know for certain the money will go exactly where it's
been alleged to go:
1) to Afghanistan
2) to security and reconstruction
3) with accounting for all monies expended.

5. He said the same thing six months before attacking Iraq

He then diverted money allotted for Afghanistan into preparations for attacking Iraq. The diverted money was alleged to be for building, "schools, roads, hospitals," in Afghanistan. This new money is most likely for attacking Iran.

We don't belong there either.

And we don't need to spend 10 billion of funds you won't be able to account for, on the place.
