Al-Qaida tied group denies Iraq leader's death

DUBAI - The self-styled Islamic State in Iraq denied the leader of al-Qaida in Iraq, Abu Ayyub al-Masri, also known as Abu Hamza al-Muhajer, was killed on Tuesday.

"The Islamic State in Iraq assures the Islamic nation about the safety of Sheikh Abu Hamza al-Muhajer, may God save him, and that he is still fighting the enemies," said the al-Qaida-linked group in a statement posted on a Web site used by militants.

1. My local TV news made a point to say that US security forces...
had absolutely nothing to do with his death (if it did happen). Looks as if they're tired of giving credit when it isn't due.

And again, how many top Al-Queda leaders ARE there? Sheesh they're management heavy!:eyes:

2. I heard on NPR radio news that he was killed by a former insurgent group that
was one of many that splintered away from the foreign "freedom fighters".

unity gives strength.......divided.....they fall.

thats the NPR government suported news story.
