Mango initiative reflects stronger Indo-US trade ties
Source: Zee News-India

Washington, May 02: The US has said the success of the mango initiative aimed at facilitating entry of Indian mangoes in the American market signals the resolve of both sides to forge stronger trade ties and create significant new economic opportunities for the people of the two countries.

Welcoming the arrival of Indian mangoes in Washington DC after nearly two decades, US Trade Representative Susan Schwab said "the Indian mangoes I enjoyed today represent more than just a market opening for one product."

"The success of the mango initiative signals the determination of both India and the United States to forge deeper and stronger trade ties and create significant new economic opportunities for the people of both of our vast countries," she said.

The mango initiative launched by President George W Bush and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh just over a year ago, was aimed at facilitating entry of Indian mangoes into the U.S. market.

5. Thanks for posting.
I actually have some merchants in India who want to start exporting.

10. There are in fact domestic mangoes
here in the 50th State, some people have mango trees right in the middle of Honolulu! (If they're akamai, they'll have signs facing the sidewalk that say "No Picking"!)

Not that we'd be able to feed the entire continent's appetite for mangoes by ourselves, anyway, but USDA regulations perversely make it more difficult to "export" fruit from Hawai'i than from actual foreign countries! They make our producers irradiate for fruit flies -- but aren't there fruit flies in India, Chile, etc., too? :eyes:

7. I've got a problem -
I want to send your link to a few interested parties in India. This is a very good article.

The problem is, there is a very BAD advertisement at the top of the article. There are some BARE BUTTS, and I don't dare forward the article as it is.

Any suggestions on how to get rid of the banner ad?

8. Actually, I had rather us be trading with the Indians instead of sending them our jobs.
It is better than China, now isn't it?
