Chicago Tribune blog"In Pew’s April 27-30 survey of 1,040 adults, people were asked this question: “There are already many candidates for the 2008 presidential election. Can you tell me the name of the candidate you’ve heard the most about in the news lately?’’
The Results: 41 percent named Clinton, 23 percent Obama, 4 percent McCain, 3 percent former Sen. John Edwards of North Carolina, 3 percent Giuliani, 1 Romney.
In Pew’s March 16-19 survey, the falloff was just as dramatic for the Republicans: 37 percent named Clinton, 24 percent Obama, 3 percent McCain, 3 percent Giuliani.
The interesting footnote to all of this: The results aren’t skewed by parties, the way they are in most polling – Republicans as well as Democrats say they have heard more about the Democratic Party’s two leading candidates than they have heard about the Republican Party’s top-tier."

The media is certainly helping Clinton and Obama stay on top of mind for voters. There may be some separation between those candidates from others.
The media don't seem to be mentioning Republicans, either.
