Syria doing more to stop insurgent flow into Iraq-US
Source: Reuters

BAGHDAD, May 3 (Reuters) - Syria is doing more to stop the flow of foreign fighters coming across its border into Iraq, the U.S. military said on Thursday.

U.S. military spokesman Major-General William Caldwell said insurgents were still crossing the border into Iraq's vast western desert, where Sunni Islamist al Qaeda in Iraq has influence, but numbers were slowing. "There has been some movement by the Syrians ... there has been a reduction in the foreign fighter flow making their way into Iraq, as we have observed here over the last month," Caldwell told a news conference.

The United States has accused Syria of not doing enough to stop the flow of foreign fighters coming into Iraq. Caldwell did not give precise details on what Syria was doing to stem the flow.

1. The General is unable to stop the flow himself, but he thinks Syria can.
Meanwhile, Syria is harboring and caring for hundreds of thousands of Iraqi refugees, created by the Generals activities, at it's own expense.

So, who ought to be accountable to whom here?

2. Not to even mention the FACT that the occupier is legally responsible for
securing an occupied nation's borders.

George W. bUsh's America CANNOT fulfill its legal responsibility to secure Iraq's borders, so George W. bUsh's America blames other nations.

Typical for George W. bUsh's America.

3. Hard to paint Syria as the bad guy when they're willing to help
seal a border that WE are not willing to control.

4. But I thought Nancy Pelosi ruined everything when she went?
This can't be. I thought she violated the Logan Act and should be in jail. She even violated the alien-sedition act (which Freepers don't realize went out before electricity). /End Freeper Rant

5. This explains the Condi trip. If Syria keeps it up, the WH doesn't
want Pelosi to get the credit.
