Giuliani says Saddam paid price for offenses
Source: CNN

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) -- Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani said Friday that former Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein is paying an eternal and deserved punishment for his brutal life's work.

"You sure wouldn't want to be where Saddam Hussein is, where we helped put him," Giuliani said during a campaign stop in eastern Iowa in which he praised President Bush's war on terrorism but acknowledged that mistakes have been made in Iraq.

During a town-hall meeting with some 100 people, the former New York City mayor was asked to compare what Saddam and former Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld did in the war. Giuliani paused before answering.

"Where is Donald Rumsfeld?" Giuliani said. "He's alive, writing a book and living the good life with his family."

1. Rudy's God Almighty now?
I thought eternal judgment was up to God; at least, that's what all the important books seem to say. Now Rudy has taken it upon himself to mete out eternal punishment to folks who "deserve" it. I suppose if the fundy-bots even notice it, they'll excuse it because Rudy's such a good, Christian man.

2. Is that piece of shit saying that Rummy being free somehow makes him good?
America being too corrupt or chickenshit to hold Rumsfeld accountable does not translate into Rumsfeld somehow being good or just

- "He's alive, writing a book and living the good life with his family."

3. We initially helped to put Sadam Hussein where he was so we could
put himself somewhere else for what he did with our blessing.

Get the facts right, Rudy.

4. Seems there are 600,000 Iraqi's and 3500 US servicepeople who might disagree.
These Republican candidates are in total denial of the reality. It's so pathetic listening to these people trying to justify our illegal war and occupation. I don't know how any of them can sleep at night.

7. Ghod, I love threads like this.
I know there will always be juicy replies to this garbage.

Rude-y Ghouliani...

Such a Medieval Man. Everything he says is just Medieval. Really Middle Ages stuff. I could quote some stuff from the Archbishop of Canterbury that sounds very similar to what this man is spouting.

The point is, though, nobody is falling for it. That's why they blurt out their slogans and they QUICKLY LEAVE for the next Town Hall meeting.

8. So not being prosecuted makes things ok?
I guess Pinochet was ok.
I guess Pol Pot was ok.
I guess Stalin was ok.
I guess Franco was ok.
I guess any Nazi death camp guard that didn't get prosecuted was ok too.

According to Giuliani.

11. Ever heard of karma, Rudi?
It's a bitch, and that may also be Donnie's next incarnation.

Of course, he (and you) may also become a slug (sorry, that's taken by Tancredo) or a manure fly, or a tick on the back of a pariah dog, or; actually the possibilities are endless.

Or did this comment "You sure wouldn't want to be where Saddam Hussein is, where we helped put him," mean hanged and buried? Rudy has no class.

20. Oh, that Ghouliani.
Always good for a laugh.

Ok, let's see now. He's making the Biblical comparison between Good versus Evil.

Saddam Hussein = Evil. He's dead.

Donald Rumsfaiiled = Good. He's alive, enjoying the GOOD life with his family.

Or was this a shoot-em-up cowboy movie I watched recently? From the 50's, where the "Good Guy" wore completely white clothes so I wouldn't have any trouble figuring it out? Even though there was dirt everywhere in the Wild West.

Ghouliani = IDIOT

22. I can't take seriously people who employ this sort of voodoo talk
How does Guiliani know where Saddam is, except dead? Did he visit his rotting corpse in hell? Has he got a photo he can share?

Meanwhile, according to this rationale, Rumsfeld's obviously a good man because he's still around enjoying life. What does that say about the person/persons behind the anthrax deaths? Kim Jong-Il? Robert Mugabe? OSAMA BIN LADEN?

What utter nonsense, and from a presidential candidate of all things. Apparently we'll have to relive the Salem witch hunts and the Spanish inquisition before this country joins the rest of Western civilization in the Age of Enlightenment.

23. brutal life's work.....
Here's a recent picture of the vicious butcher of Equatorial Guinea:

"Obiang runs a regime regularly condemned by the State Department for human rights violations, including torture, beatings, abuse and deaths of prisoners and suspects. He's gotten as much as 97 percent of the vote in recent elections. He told CBS's "60 Minutes" that was because "there is no one left in the opposition."
Human rights groups and folks inside the State Department were beside themselves that Rice would meet with what one advocate called "one of the most brutal, most corrupt and unreconstructed dictators in the world."

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/04/16/AR2006041600737.html

He's a brutal killer of his own people. He steals all the oil money. His people starve while his son spends $1 million a day in London.
He has an oil deal with Exxon/Mobil.

Any comments, Ghouliani?

26. Arithmetic is not Rudy's strength, is it?
If Saddam "paid" with his one life for thousands of murders and decades of misery and oppression, what does Rudy think of criminals who are executed for single murders?

If you insist on an eye for an eye, well, no one is born with that many eyes. Saddam didn't "pay a price," he faced vengeance--with a touch of good ol' fashioned cover-up.
