Wolfowitz aide resigns from World Bank

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - One of two key aides to World Bank President Paul Wolfowitz resigned on Monday, saying he could no longer effectively help advance the mission of the institution under the current leadership crisis.

Kevin Kellems, who was an advisor to Wolfowitz since 2002 at the Pentagon and throughout the planning of the Iraq war, told Reuters he was leaving "for other opportunities".

"Given the current environment surrounding the leadership of the World Bank Group, it is very difficult to be effective in helping to advance the mission of the institution," Kellems said.

The fact that it is Kellems who is shown the door may indicate that Wolfie is staying put at the World Bank.

There are too many options to speculate on:

Aide loyal to Wolfowitz so environment is unfriendly to aide.
Aide loyal to Wolfowitz and resents Bank for unfriendly attitude towards Wolfowitz.

Aide not loyal to Wolfowitz because he thinks Wolf created unfriendly environment.
Aide wants to dis-associate himself from Wolf to help his own career.

I wonder how Toensing is doing in her defense of no wrong doing by girlfriend for having dual jobs and benefits? for a portion of time.
