Wexler's Questioning Nailed the Issue During Gonzo Hearings Today in House Judiciary...

The crux of Wexler's questioning was: If it wasn't anybody at DoJ, and it wasn't Bush or Cheney (as Gonzalez' said today) then who created the firing list?

Chairman Conyers' is wondering exactly that, and his office sends us this statement of his, following today's hearing:

"After hours of testimony, the first and most basic question remains: who created the list of US Attorneys to be fired and why? As I said in the hearing, the bread crumbs are steadily leading toward 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue."

1. I listened to the hearing today and am still aghast at how

little came out. Gonzo has no respect for the Constitution and the balance of powers it grants us. I had the feeling, no it was more than a feeling, he WAS thumbing his nose at those seeking the truth.

Gonzoles read the same statement word-for-word. It was just eerie -- and hilarious.

I have to say that Jon Stewart has done a great service for the regular evening news by pioneering this and other techniques of electronic memory. Keith O was the first to pick up on it, though I am starting to see a bit more on other evening news shows of the use of archival clips to refute/amplify current statements by members of this admin.

5. problem with bread crumbs

in the Hansel and Gretel version - they dropped bread crumbs so they could find their way back home, however, birds came along behind and ate the bread crumbs - thus obliterating the trail.

in terms of bush misadministration - there are many loyal bushies up ahead on the trail vacuuming, sweeping, eating, or brushing away that trail.

screw the breadcrumbs - there are freaking flashing neon signs, billboards, maps, and hugh arrows all pointing to the white house.
