Gordon Brown launches UK Prime Minister bid
Source: BBC

Gordon Brown has said he has the "new ideas and vision" to lead Britain as he launched his long-awaited Labour leadership campaign in central London.

He praised Tony Blair and pledged to make Britain "one of the great success stories of the new century".

Launching his campaign at the Imagination Gallery in central London, Mr Brown said Mr Blair "has led our country for ten years with distinction - with courage, passion and insight".

But he added: "In the weeks and months ahead, my task is to show I have the new ideas, the vision and the experience to earn the trust of the British people."

For those of you who don't know, Gordon Brown is almost certain to become the next leader of the Labour party and Prime Minister after Tony Blair.

1. Well, Brits, what's he like?
Will he continue the course of unqualified support for Chimpy and his war(s)?

4. You'll be lucky if anyone else can get on the ballot paper
There are 2 lefties running (John McDonnell & Michael Meacher) but neither has the required 44 nominations from MP's needed to get on the final ballot paper and to be honest, even when they club together they may struggle to get enough nominations.

And even then, Gordon Brown's the only one with the gravitas and experience, even though he is very tightly linked with all that Tony Blair has done.
