Coulter Cleared of Vote Fraud, but FBI Agent's Intrusion on Her Behalf Is Being Investigated
Source: Editor & Publisher

Ann Coulter has been cleared of allegations that she falsified her Florida voter registration and voted illegally -- after a high-level FBI agent made unsolicited phone calls to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office to vouch for the conservative pundit, according to a Friday piece by Jose Lambiet of the Palm Beach Post.

Lambiet wrote that when the FBI heard about the calls, it immediately launched an internal review of Supervisory Special Agent Jim Fitzgerald's involvement. "We're looking into it," FBI spokeswoman Ann Todd told Lambiet, while declining to say whether Fitzgerald acted on his own behalf, as an FBI agent, or on someone else's orders.

"This doesn't bode well in terms of the public's impression that celebrities receive preferential treatment," said Palm Beach County Supervisor of Elections Arthur Anderson. "I'm curious about how anyone can justify the FBI's intrusion."

Coulter, the controversial author and Universal Press Syndicate columnist, allegedly cast her ballot in the wrong precinct in a February 2006 Palm Beach election after registering with an address that wasn't hers.

4. I'm wondering how she could even be "cleared".
It's a FACT that she voted in a precinct where she didn't live;
it's a FACT that she registered with a false address.

:wtf:

whatever you want to call it she was hammered and she voted in the wrong place. This isn't an excuse mind you but I would be willing to bet that that was the deal.

9. Maybe the Behavioral Analysis folks at the FBI
need AnnThrax. Think of the insight they can get on the behavior of psychopaths just by studying Ann.

She's a virtual gold-mine of mental health issues; psychosis, schizophrenia, delusions of adequacy, pathological, anger, social adjustment disorder, gender confusion, anorexia, sexual dis-function, inbreeding, paranoia... the list goes' on and on.

Maybe the FBI needs to study her to learn the behavior of serial killers and pedophiles.

15. Un-freaking-real. So voting wherever the f* you please is A-ok
if you're connected. What a bunch of bullsh*. The stalker excuse sounds like a pile of malarkey to me. Much bigger celebrities than this dumb-ass manage to vote without having to resort to f*ing voter fraud to elude stalkers. Give me a break.

Why don't they just be honest about it - she called in a favor from some dude at the FBI that she knows. Political connections were called into play, plain and simple.
