New charges filed against former top CIA official, defense contractor

Published: May 11, 2007

SAN DIEGO: New charges have been filed alleging that the CIA's
former No. 3 official used his influence in that role to support a
proposed $100 million (€74.15 million) government contract for his
best friend, a defense contractor, in return for lavish vacations,
private jet flights and a lucrative job offer.

The indictment, returned Thursday by a federal grand jury in San
Diego, supersedes charges brought in February against career CIA
man Kyle "Dusty" Foggo and defense contractor Brent Wilkes. The
charges grew from the bribery scandal that landed former U.S.
Congressman Randy "Duke" Cunningham in prison.

The pair now face 30 wide-ranging counts of fraud, conspiracy
and money laundering.

According to the new indictment, Foggo provided Wilkes with
"sensitive, internal information related to our national security,"
including classified information, to help him prepare proposals for
providing undercover flights for the CIA under the guise of a civil
aviation company and armored vehicles for agency operations.
Foggo allegedly then pushed his CIA colleagues to hire Wilkes'
companies without disclosing their longstanding friendship.

5. They used to all the time, ever Wednesday I believe
They hired a Limousine service to provide prostitutes and bring people to the Watergate Hotel for Poker and Sex and Treason....That scandal dropped from sight in a hell of a hurry. Must have been some Democrats involved as well or there would at least be some sort of follow up..

7. I have not found the
Democrats to avoid scandal of their own. If you have some evidence of this, please pass it on.

8. So, Lam's GJ indictment is being superseded with this one
So, first I question if there are charges she brought that have been dropped or changed, and secondly, it means a grand jury is still working on this. Guess they couldn't make this go away.

11. Is Jeppeson related. ACLU is suing Jeppeson for rendition flights.

Suit announced here in the past week in front of their San Jose Ca. office. They aren't hopeful that the Bushies will declare state secrets and the judge might throw it out. But this is California so who knows, and an appeal woyuld go to the 9th Circuit which is bad for Bush. Filing it here instead of Colorado is also good. Thats the main HQ for Jepperson.

Boeing subsidiary enabled torture alleges US civil liberties body

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) filed a lawsuit today in federal court alleging that Boeing’s Jeppesen Dataplan, Inc. subsidiary knowingly participated in the US government’s unlawful “extraordinary rendition,” or transport, of CIA prisoners to secret locations around the globe.
