Gingrich may get into presidential race
Source: Associated Press

Warns GOP will lose without commitment to ‘very fundamental change’

WASHINGTON - Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich said Monday there is a very good chance he'll get into the race for the 2008 Republican presidential nomination, but he won't decide until after September.

"I think right now that it is a great possibility," Gingrich said. "I don't want to get into all this stuff. I want to focus on what we have to do to make America successful."

Gingrich said he plans to hold a workshop on solutions facing the country in September, after which he'll make a decision on whether to launch a presidential bid.

He made the comments Monday on ABC's "Good Morning America."

5. Does anyone think he could actually win??
I mean, he's pretty thoroughly discredited.

The "revolution" was over by 1999 for him.

If he's the candidate it will have to be about illegal immigration, and illegal immigration alone.

What's scary to me is that he'll have 30% of the population vote for him by default if he's the candidate.

6. Please do it, Newt.
Newt Gingrich is the perfect contrast to Barack Obama. He's hateful, hypocritical, ethically unmoored, racist, chauvinist, and petty--and that's just what we have on the record already.

A year and a half of Gingrich's bullshit is guaranteed to put Obama in the White House. Plus, even if he doesn't get the nomination he'll suck up dwindling GOP crime-dollars from other candidates with a better chance.

7. Doesn't this sound like a joke? The Republican candidates look so bad...
...that Newt Gingrich and Dan Quayle said they might run?

If either of those jack-offs got the nomination, I'd guarantee you we could see President Gravel inaugurated.

sorry presidential race - how about Jeb Bush as well - make it an even dozen (is it a dozen) that'll make it 4 foursomes at the restricted country club they all are members of.

14. No, the current wife
doesn't have cancer yet!

And people say GIULIANI has family-values problems. Sheesh!

Gingrich has been married three times. In 1962, Gingrich married his first wife, Jackie Battley, resulting in the birth of two daughters. He left his wife in the spring of 1980; moreover, he finalized the divorce details while she was in the hospital recovering from cancer surgery in the fall of 1980. Gingrich married his second wife, Marianne Ginther, in the fall of 1981. <4> They divorced in 1999 amid rumors Gingrich was having an affair. A year later, he married the alleged subject of his affair, a House aide 23 years his junior <5> named Callista Bisek. <6>

13. Great news. Hilarious.
The crew of Republicans this go 'round is the most sterotypical, hilarious gang of morans I have ever seen.

The flip-flopping Mormon.
America's Mayor whose knowledge of foreign affairs frightens wingnuts.
The Crazy Talk Express.
A racist religious nutbag (Brownback)
A wingnut country bumpkin. (Huckabee)
Anti-war, anti-government, Bush critic Libertarian Ron Paul.
Anti-immigration and anti-abortion crazy men (Duncan Hunter and Tom Tancredo).
And now Newt fucking Gingrich - enough said.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAAA

What the thugs need is even MORE potential candidates, to further dilute the support for any one of them.

I do have to praise Newt for his stance on the war, though.

<snip>

Polls show that the Iraq War is a big undertow for Republicans. Gingrich said as far back as 2003 that Bush had "gone off a cliff" with the Iraq War. Gingrich believes the United States should get out of Iraq as soon as possible.

"I think we have to turn over policing responsibility for the Iraqis as rapidly as possible," he said. "Pull our troops out as rapidly as possible."
