TYC suspends four superintendents

AUSTIN — The Texas Youth Commission said Monday it suspended four more juvenile prison officials in the continuing investigation of an agency racked by allegations of sexual abuse of inmates and other problems.

Eduardo Martinez, superintendent of the Evins Regional Juvenile Center in Edinburg, was suspended for allegedly failing to follow agency policy to notify law enforcement and parents of an allegation of sexual assault.

Debra Dick, superintendent of Tamayo Halfway House in Harlingen, was suspended pending an investigation of alleged inappropriate use of state resources.

Blu Nicholson, acting superintendent at Crockett State School, faces allegations of mistreatment of youth. And Lisa Cook, superintendent of McFadden Ranch in Roanoke, was suspended pending an investigation of allegations of interfering with the reporting and investigations of incidents at the facility.
