Perle Turns on Bush in Harsh Terms
Source: NY Sun

The Bush administration is beginning to appease rather than confront America's enemies, a former chairman of the Defense Policy Board and leading neoconservative thinker said yesterday, describing the president as "a failure" who is proving powerless to impose his views on his administration.

Richard Perle offered a withering assessment of the president's impotence at a meeting of the Hudson Institute in New York, saying American foreign policy is being applied by an out-of-control State Department.

Although Mr. Perle said he no longer has access to the president, he said his conversations with those close to the White House led him to a pessimistic view of how foreign policy is currently conducted, with a profound disconnect between President Bush's wishes and how the administration carries out policies in his name.

"We have already seen a change in policy towards Iran," he said. "It is now firmly back in the hands of the Department of State." Mr. Perle's assessment is recognized by an expert on defense policy at the American Enterprise Institute, Thomas Donnelly, who said Mr. Bush is routinely frustrated by "establishment" thinking within Washington and that the failure to respond to the president's more radical thinking has harmed American policy in Iraq.

Against Humanity, war profiteering and treason against the United States of America. There needs to be a Nuremberg-like public trial to try, convict and publically execute these most dispicable criminals. That's all!

8. it's true, a million dead Iraqi's (who wouldn't be dead had we not invaded) is a lot of blood
maybe it's still too early, but some kind of justice is going to be asked for, in the long run... I just don't see how we can get past the cost of this folly in human lives... will any justice be possible? What would it be? I just don't know what to think, it's somewhat unheard of for politicians to have to answer for their "mistakes"/crimes?

12. Oh, it's so much fun to watch them devour each other.
The more it becomes apparent that this administration will go down in history as the worst ever, the quicker many 'Pukes are to turn on the very ones they lauded so loudly before.

I love it! Even the disinterested public surely cannot help but notice as we keep hearing GOP and neocon party loyalists and fanatics attacking their own and dismembering their party from the inside.

The most delightful part of all is seeing how the dim son who for too long enjoyed such nonsensical praise and boostering from his party has become now the one every 'Puke wants to run as far away from as possible. He is surely starting to feel like the world's loneliest guy these days, don't you think?

I hope we can look forward to more of the same as GOPers repeatedly employ the devastating term "failure" for the Pretzeldent we all know is one!

May they find many more descriptive terms just as damaging to their former "star's" legacy as well.

By the time the inauguration of January 09 rolls around, I expect Americans of all persuasions will be heaving huge sighs of relief just to be done with that disgraceful administration. Imagine how wonderful it will be to see the nightmare end, at least in this form!, and know we won't have to endure the bumbling embarrassment of a president stammering his way through public appearances and speeches anymore.

I think we should work to revive that perfectly descriptive sentence from the Nixon diaries: "Our long national nightmare is over." It may have been used in reference to the war in Vietnam, but it may as well have been alluding to the Nixon presidency and how we all felt when he waved bye-bye as he left in disgrace.

I think that sentiment certainly applies again these days as we watch the current nightmare proceding through its messy denoument.

Why are we letting war criminals walk and live in luxury too? We need to be informal with these people and have popular tribunals decide their fate. 22. Oh, Mr. Perle, tell me that story I SO love to hear ...
... again and again - you know the one!

Remember when you said: "And a year from now, I'll be very surprised if there is not some grand square in Baghdad that is named after President Bush."*

Or that romantic evening back in 2003, when you dazzled me with: "There is no doubt that, with the exception of a very small number of people close to a vicious regime, the people of Iraq have been liberated ** and they understand that they've been liberated. And it is getting easier every day for Iraqis to express that sense of liberation."

Oh, Richard, take me away to that magic land, where we can dance until dawn in George W. Bush Grand Square, celebrating with those joyous Iraqis who know they've been liberated, and want to express that sense of liberation!***

* Some restrictions may apply. Names may be changed to protect the incompetent.

** Offer void where prohibited by occupying (i.e. liberating) forces.

*** "Expression" of liberation does not necessarily include actual liberation; please consult legal counsel for full disclosure re future self-governance, voting rights (aka The Purple Finger), access to your own oil resources, etc.

The whole PNAC plan for world dominance has washed out. He wanted us to invade all the counties in the middle east and control the oil while killing evil Muslims. It's a damn good thing Bush stopped listening. Bush is even trying diplomacy, a little, without admitting it.

Because once we've taken back the White House, they'll just go find some nice rocks and shadows to slither into and bide their time. They WILL be busy regrouping and lying in wait for the next opportunity to strike.

But the PNAC plan IS washing out, now, and it's time (at least in this phase) is about up. My main concern is how well these schmucks seem always to learn from their mistakes. They learned from nixon's mistakes how to cover up better, which we're seeing played out now.

Perles of Wisdom

In USA 'Today, May 2, 2003 "Relax, Celebrate Victory"

This was a war worth fighting. It ended quickly with few civilian casualties and with little damage to Iraq's cities, towns or infrastructure. It ended without the Arab world rising up against us, as the war's critics feared, without the quagmire they predicted, without the heavy losses in house-to-house fighting they warned us to expect. It was conducted with immense skill and selfless courage by men and women who will remain until Iraqis are safe, and who will return home as heroes....

Iraqis are freer today and we are safer. Relax and enjoy it.

52. Fuck you, Richard Perle!
Your neo-con fantasies got us into this goddamned mess, and your neo-con fantasies WON'T get us out of it! You slimy fucktard excuses for humanity think you have a handle on how the world works, but it's us normal humans who REALLY make the world go around. You think you're all kingmakers, but you are slime, pure slime! There are only a handful of people on this fine planet who I would ever say anything like this about, Richard Perle, but I hope you die a long, slow, painful death from some horribly debilitating disease, Richard Perle, one of those diseases that leaves your mind intact, but wastes your body and makes it impossible for you to communicate. You deserve the worst fate that a human can suffer, Richard Perle, and all of your goddamned blood money won't prevent your fucking god from judging you harshly. If I ever saw you on the street, Richard Perle, I would spit in your eye, a molecule of snot for each death that you are PERSONALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR. Try to jump ship now, you slimy rat bastard, we can see through your lies. Go to hell, asshole!!!!

(It was not my intention with this post to offend god, slime, people with debilitating diseases, rats, bastards or assholes! Sorry if any of the above took offense...)

53. "Our children will sing great songs about us years from now."
"No stages," he said. "This is total war. We are fighting a variety of enemies. There are lots of them out there. All this talk about first we are going to do Afghanistan, then we will do Iraq . . . this is entirely the wrong way to go about it. If we just Let our vision of the world go forth, and we embrace it entirely and we don't try to piece together clever diplomacy, but just wage a total war . . . our children will sing great songs about us years from now." ----Richard Perle to John Pilger, 2002.

56. Let's Send Perle, Feith & Wolfowitz to Negotiate Face-to-Face w/Iraqis in Baghdad...
There is something relevatory about standing in breach, watching the bombs go off all around you, and facing those who want you to leave yesterday.

They got us into this mess, now let them have the full experience of what they have wrought.

57. Perle might be right eventually about that Baghdad Square.
Saddam put a mural of Poppy on the ground so that people could walk on it - a supreme insult in the Arab world. It wouldn't surprise me if someday the Iraqis are stomping on Chimpy's mug in Baghdad's new "Death to Bu$h" Square.

63. 'Mr. Perle said the current policy toward Iraq has no more than nine months to run:'
Mr. Perle said the current policy toward Iraq has no more than nine months to run: It either will have achieved success by then or will have to be abandoned. "That is why I find it strange that the Democrats should take short-term political advantage. They have only to wait," he said.

Why yes, let's just sit on our hands and wait while, what, another 1000 of our children die? Another 10,000 Iraqis die? Another million Iraqis flee their own country?

Richard Perle should have been charged with treason and dealt with way back in the '70's when he was caught giving classified information to Israel. These NeoCons want to destroy America in the name of Israel.

64. That friggin' well-known liar and thief Conrad Black even thinks
Perles a douche bag...

<snip>

And while the report documents how Black spent company cash on himself, he resented it when Perle did the same. The report, again: Black "told Atkinson in an e-mail dated that he was 'well aware of what a trimmer and a sharper Richard is at times.' " Black wrote about Trireme. "As I suspected, there is a good deal of nest-feathering being conducted by Richard which I don't object to other than that there was some attempt to disguise it behind a good deal of dissembling and obfuscation." (In Black's book, it was OK to feather your nest but not OK to lie about it.)

Black admired—in a grudging way—how Perle worked on him. Black explained in a Jan. 7, 2003, e-mail to a colleague: "I have been exposed to Richard's full repertoire of histrionics, cajolery, and utilization of fine print. He hasn't been disingenuous exactly, but I understand how he finessed the Russians out of deployed missiles in exchange for non-eventual-deployment of half the number of missiles of unproven design." After discussing compensation with Perle, he wrote: "My feeling is that we are finally dealing with Richard Perle of Reykjavik and the Zero Option, who realizes that mental agility must be applied to bringing us into the coalition and not straight-arming us like a bunch of NATO-ninny psuedo-allies."

66. My, my....people sure don't appreciate a good puppet anymore. From the article:
"...The president's failure to get his own way stems from his general inexperience in foreign affairs and his ignorance of the way Washington works, Mr. Perle suggested. "He came ill-equipped for the job and has failed to master it," he said"

Isn't that what the neocons wanted? Someone that could be controlled?

Dick, Dick, Dick. Tut, tut. You are a fool and stupider than Little Boots.

The PNAC-Team: Four A gang of Neocon chickenhawks, committing crimes they thought they'd never be framed for, exhaust an entire country's resourses and military might while killing innocents around the world.

Hm, I'm still working on it. But it has a certain twist about it.

79. For this quote alone the post is worthy of a rec
"Although Mr. Perle said he no longer has access to the president, he said his conversations with those close to the White House led him to a pessimistic view of how foreign policy is currently conducted, with a profound disconnect between President Bush's wishes and how the administration carries out policies in his name."

86. Thanks for calling this to our attention!
I've added it to the . His prediction about the square in Baghdad is there, too.

They would like to be able to say these things and then unsay them when convenient. But they can't. As long as we're diligent about keeping this information readily accessible to the public, the neocons' efforts to rewrite history will fail.
