Wolfowitz WILL NOT RESIGN from World Bank: lawyer
Source: Reuters

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - World Bank President Paul Wolfowitz will not resign under the current "cloud" and would rather push the matter to a vote of the bank's board to clear his name, his lawyer said on Wednesday.

WTF? These treasonous rat bastards are tougher than cockroaches to get rid of! He certainly is fighting like a madman to keep that position. Another one of Cheney's men takes a hit? One would think that after losing Libby, he sure as hell doesn't want to lose this creep. Little Lord Pissypants has Rove and Gonzo in place yet Cheney's guys are dropping like flies. What's that about? Darth must be steaming...

10. The key phrase being "under this cloud"
Seeing as news reports are saying negotiations are under way and part of that negotiation is for the WB to say it wasn't all Wolfy's fault both stories are factual, imo.

Negotiations end successfully and the WB does say it wasn't all Wolfy's fault therefore Wolfy is no longer "under this cloud" and can resign and his lawyer never lied, technically.

12. 3/20/05 Will a British divorcee cost 'Wolfie' his job?
From SHARON CHURCHER and ANNETTE WITHERIDGE, Mail on Sunday - More by this author »

Wolfowitz married Clare Selgin in 1968. But they have lived separately since 2001, after allegations of an affair with an employee at the School of Advanced International Studies where he was dean for seven years.

According to one Republican Administration insider, Clare was so upset by rumours about the affair that she wrote to then President Elect Bush, saying if the story were true it could pose a national security risk.

Yesterday, she refused to comment on whether her husband had been unfaithful before their separation, saying: "I really do not want to share this with you."

She also refused to confirm her marital status - reports of his appointment repeatedly describe Wolfowitz as divorced but The Mail on Sunday has been unable to find any records. Asked if she is separated or divorced, Clare replied: "That's my business."

On the claim that she wrote a letter to Bush, she said: "That's very interesting but not something I can tell you about."

A friend of Wolfowitz insisted last night that he had not been unfaithful: "Paul and Clare have been separated since 2001. It is my understanding they are now legally separated."

What is wrong with this guy? It's gotta be the money. He's an international laughingstock. There is no reputation to salvage. The old horn dog was padding his girlfriend's nest at the expense of the World Bank. These clowns are always very liberal with everybody else's money.

Not only the democrats but the world bank leaders too.

It seems noone in the whole world has the balls to say NO to a Bushie.

They do whatever they want and NO ONE IN THE WORLD OPPOSES THEM!!

They are politely asked to do the right thing and that's as far as it goes.

What the fuck is going on?

50. I agree with you, I don't understand it.
This arrogant little bastard George W. Bush and his cronies seem to live in a world where they are beyond the rule of law and custom.

Our whole system seems to have fallen prisoner to the whims of a dubiously elected, incompetent but supremely arrogant and stubborn spoiled brat.

Wolfowitz, a man guilty of enriching his girlfriend at the World Bank's expense, dictates the terms of his departing from that institution.

Gonzolez, smirks and lies through his testimony in Congress but nobody seems willing to do anything about it except humbly ask him to resign.

Karl Rove sits in the White House like the cat who ate the canary certain that he will never be forced to testify under oath and that if he does he can simply claim memory loss and will be permitted to get away with it.

What is going on here. The man is President of the United States and is therefore subject to the laws of this country. No one to my knowledge elected him king of anything, yet with very few exceptions, nobody seems willing to confront him on just about anything.

Most seem resigned to waiting until the end of his term.

Hey people, Bush hasn't respected any of our laws and customs since he was installed in the White House--are you absolutely certain that he intends to leave once his term is over?

There is a mountain of evidence against this guy, yet the board of the world bank dickers over what needs to be done.

I hate to be the wet blanket, but dickawitz is there to stay.

As a result the world bank will lose any credibility it thought it had left and the world will see that no matter what they do, you can't screw with the BFEE.

What is unfolding before our eyes is the equivalent of the mafia running the world.

sit back, grab a bottle of wine and cry.
